I was so excited to try this for the first time ever, as i found it on google when looking for any buffets for miles.
the decor was very nice as you enter. plenty of dishes on the buffet, but as i looked closer, the dinner foods were dried up leftovers from lunch.
i saw, in past youtube posts, that they had male blue crabs but when i arrived, they were all females which have very little meat and they did NOT offer crab crackers, but i happen to keep some in my truck. a lady next to me asked for crab crackers and they said they had none so she had to waste the arm and claw meat as she cant crack them. i offered her my crab crackers but she and her hubby were very worried about covid as they wore their mask right up until eating and i understand that.
they had very small flimsy plastic forks and spoons but no knives to cut your food so you had to chomp at it or in my case, i asked for a real knife and got one. good thing, as i had to use that for the little cup of ice cream as you cant use the plastic spoon against super hard frozen ice cream.
my fav dish was the Alfredo flavored noodles and i loved the soft music, vs the typical loud dance music that so many restaurants play.
it is very dark in there, yet tons of lights on the ceiling, but super dark.
sadly, for the first time ever in my 58 years, i picked up the wonderful oversized pork rib but it had a very bad smell and i dared to taste it and it was bad. had to waste the rib.
the Hog fish was good, its steamed or baked maybe, but the fried fish, which i think was tilapia, was very dry and over fried.
I would travel from herndon to manasass weekly if it was good, but this was a...
Read moreI went to this hibachi buffet for lunch and paid around $15. Overall, it's a place to get a lot of food for a low price, but the quality is just okay. I didn't try the hibachi grill or the dessert bar, so I'm unable to comment on those.
The standout items were the grilled beef and the fried shrimp. The beef was cooked well, flavorful, and tender. The shrimp was perfectly crispy and well-seasoned, easily the best thing on my plate. The sesame balls were also a highlight—they were soft and had a great oily texture, although they were on the smaller side.
Unfortunately, many other items were disappointing. The sushi selection was very limited, with only one type of nigiri (white fish) which looked dry and was thinly sliced. The spicy tuna roll didn't taste like spicy tuna, which was strange. The deep-fried sushi was cold, and the gyoza was bland and lacked a flavorful sauce. The vegetable dishes were also subpar; the green beans and boiled corn were both bland. The baked scallops were particularly dry with a weird, mealy filling instead of the creamy texture I expected.
This is a good spot if you're looking for a cheap place to eat a lot of food, but don't expect a high-quality...
Read moreWhile this buffet is fairly reasonably priced ($16.99 for dinner), the food quality poor. You could clearly see steam rising from each serving station, but much of the food I tried was luke warm at best. It was evident that the food had been sitting out for quite some time, especially the eggrolls that hardened like rocks on the seam.
The layout of the buffet isn't logical. The traditional Chinese dishes are scattered between the different stations and are mixed in with American foods such as mashed potatoes and corn. It would be better if the different foods were paired next to each other: seafood with seafood, Chinese with Chinese, etc.
I was also surprised to see that the container for white rice was empty when I arrived and had not been refilled prior to my second trip to the buffet. The fried rice was an artificial neon color and tasted nothing like real fried rice.
I would not...
