Terrible Customer Service – Never Again
I visited Smoothie King for the first (and last) time after a workout, hoping for a quick protein shake to raise my glucose levels as I am diabetic. Instead, I waited 15 minutes for my order while another customer who ordered after me was served first. When I inquired about the delay, I was told they had forgotten my order due to a mix-up. To top it off the two employees were laughing.
Frustrated, I requested a refund, but the teenage employee said he had to call the manager—who wasn’t even present. When I questioned why, he had no answer and insisted he couldn’t process the refund. I told him that I would call the police. He called the manager, who asked to speak to me, I explained what had happened. He was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Instead of addressing my concerns, he asked for my name and number, which I refused to give. He then dismissed me, told me to "call the police," and yelled at me when I pointed out the extra time and his unsanitary food-handling practices. They didn't have on gloves while handling fruits.
A business should empower its staff to handle refunds when service fails. Additionally, kindness and professionalism should be basic expectations in customer service. Unfortunately, this location failed on all fronts. I won’t be returning, and I hope they take steps to retrain their staff and improve their policies. Needless to say, I was not refunded my money and I declined to wait another minute for a now 20 minutes.
Smoothie King will never get my hard-earned money. I left and came back to tell them that they were wrong and that I would share my experience so others are aware of their no-refund...

Unfortunately when I arrived they had not even started preparing the bowl. How is placing the order through the app convenient when I still have to wait between 10-15 minutes for them to make it once I arrive? Then Jacob's attitude is atrocious. He is rude and condescending. I am a proud Smoothie King champion! I just moved here to Manassas and was pleased to find that there was a Smoothie King about 10 minutes from my house. I went to another store and decided to open my app and place my order. My order time should have taken about 10 minutes but I showed up to the store about 7 minutes early and my drink was already done. I retrieved my order got to my car and on the way home I was drinking and there was something hard in my drink so I removed it from my mouth and I don't believe that my drink was blinded properly. As I continue to drink I hope that these were small particles of the protein used to make the smoothie because I had to keep spitting them out with every sip. This drink was absolutely disgusting and I could not finish it. I used my $2 reward plus my cash to get this drink and I could not enjoy it. Please have a chat with your team members to let them know to blend the smoothies a little bit longer. Other smoothie kings that I have visited it will take almost the entire 10 minutes to ensure that the smoothie is smooth. Read moreI'm not gonna lie, I come in here at least once a week, I'm addicted to the Island Impact! The staff is always very friendly, and the store is always super clean. They also give a military discount. Not a single complaint! EDIT I didnt have a single complaint until today, 3/16/2019 at 11:43am. There is an older woman working with another younger employee named Cat. Not only was the older employee absolutely mistreating the younger employee but she was being exceptionally rude to customers. I have honestly never seen anything like it. Management needs to take note, and if she happens to be management then this franchise owner needs to counsel her and look for better...
