We stopped in for a late dinner Tues night and there were 2 other tables +2 gentleman sitting at the bar, so it was practically dead when we got there. Things started out great with a couple of different servers checking to make sure we were served. Our server was very friendly. It took about 20 min to get our first round of drinks. The food was amazingly delicious!! Here's the reason for the lowest rating though. As any bar/restaurant owner should know, bad customer service needs to be fixed quickly before word gets out and future customers avoid your business. This place has delicious food, has an optimal location (right off the busy highway in a small town with not a lot of dining options) but the staffing will be what closes this place down. We ordered 2 drinks and 30 minutes later still didn't have them. When we had told our server we really would prefer to have drinks with our meal she told us that she wanted to get those for us but the bartender was already preoccupied with other things and didnt have time to tend bar right now. I almost lost my mind. I watched and looked for our bartender but she could not be found. I would recognize her, she had long red hair and a scowl on her face. There seemed to be sounds of a party back by the kitchen so who knows, if she was an attendee to that party and thus didnt have time for my much smaller party of two, but I didnt realize it was a BYOB type of bar, so felt left out of the fun. When the other party died out and our red headed mixologist finally made an appearance back where the liquor was on display she decided to grace us with 2 drinks that some other served tossed our way with no apology. We watched lady red the rest of the evening and if you have ever worked in a bar/tavern/restaurant for any decent period of time you would have worked with someone like her. Other servers cowered having to come up to the bar to bother asking for drinks for their patrons and sidestepped around her most of the night. Having been a bartender in Denver, Vegas and Atlanta I cringed watching her shoot herself (and the establishment owners) in the foot.I mean every real bartender knows the party is AT THE BAR not the kitchen!! Mr. Carulla, the average consumer purchases 2.3 drinks per visit when they frequent bar services. My party of 2 had one heck of time getting those drinks at your establishment due to one VERY BAD apple you have working for you. If 39% of adults admit to not eating on premises at restaurants as often as they would like and 78% of millenials say they would rather spend money on an experience, such as a restaurant or other activity, compared to purchasing an item from a store, than my suggestion to you is release lady red and start showing up to your bar to fix the horrific service your caring customer are notifying you about, or open up take out service for the great food and save the additional cost; as you will most certainly be closing shop...
Read moreOn our way from Ga to Nashville, we saw a sign on the highway for Jefferson’s: burgers/wings/oysters.. All of our favorites and we were STARVING! We stopped in and are so glad we did. From the service to the food. Connor was our waiter and he checked in faithfully, got our order in quickly and did a phenomenal job serving us. Gold star!
Jalapeño burger: AMAZING! Done just how we wanted; packed with flavor and fresh toppings. Literally delicious.
Wings: We love spicy so at first we went with “turbo” flavor which was the second spiciest. When that came out with such good flavor and a spice that wasn’t too bad, we requested a small serving of the “turbo charged” sauce and that was even more flavorful and spicy. At that point, we were in heaven. The taste was not just spicy, it tasted amazing! Which is rare once you past a certain level of spicy. They were cooked very well. My one and onlyyyyy complaint about the wings: in a basket of (10) wings, we got (1) flat.. As someone who isn’t a drums kind of girl, I was disappointed in that. If we would’ve known it wouldn’t have been even, we would’ve paid for all flats.
Oysters: Ehhh….. this is the one issue we had. If something is going to be in your title, we expect the best of the best. The oysters weren’t fresh - we actually had to take those off. We’re both pretty decent oyster fans and have them enough to know how they’re supposed to taste and the ones that we received were not good.. Thankfully they did take them off without complaint and were grateful for that. We still made sure to include the price of them on the check when leaving a tip for Connor because he deserved it.
All in all, we will certainly be back for those wings one day. We were tempted on the drive back home but we’re too much in a rush. Thanks Jefferson’s!
(So mad at myself for just getting majority videos of our food - I’ll post some...
Read moreI wanted to like this place so much, fun concept, When I walked in the hostess was lovely and friendly, And you don’t get to see casual oyster restaurants often… I asked if they had an oyster menu so I could see if these were East Coast or West Coast and the types of oysters (Yeah, I was a little bit hesitant getting oysters in Manchester, Tennessee) Server direct directed me to the bar, Where there was a chalkboard, but it just listed a different ways oysters could be prepared and nothing about them, He seemed confused when I asked. I got them anyways, and they just didn’t taste great - Kind of what you’d get at a Chinese buffet, They were large, but no liquor or much flavor, Something just didn’t feel right, so I decided to not eat the whole plate… OK, moving on from the oysters… The wings were fine a little bit on the smaller end flavor was strong, I had ordered a Caesar salad salad, sub, cucumbers for croutons… Server clearly forgot it after about 10 minutes I asked… Was told to hold on because he was in the middle of something else… Then I had to ask somebody else… Then it came out with croutons…. And I couldn’t find anybody for a while… Then I asked if they could swap it… Then he brought one out With no cucumbers or croutons and said they were out of cucumbers… A couple pieces of the lettuce were brown so I Decided not to eat it… Like I said, I wanted to like this place and maybe had I just went for beer, wings and a burger it would’ve been a better experience… If they choose to keep the oyster thing going, I think a bit more education with their team would be better and probably if they’re gonna sell raw A higher quality product or just...
