Tanner's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Manhattan

Super crowded and we were smashed against a wall with our party of 8. Things were going good until our table paid tickets. Our waitress told one of my guests that 10% is automatically given to the bartenders since we ordered alcoholic drinks and she wasn't happy with the tipping. I thought that was INCREDIBLY rude that our entire table had to hear that. If I had heard that before I paid I wouldn't have tipped her just for that simple fact. If you don't get paid enough at your job its not anyone elses responsibility to make the difference up. Tipping is optional and should be based on the service received. I felt bad for my guests that came and were so rudely spoken to. Everyone has their moments were they can only afford so much and they decided it was important to come out with family in town and had to have a server be rude and embarrassing. Went to Tanner’s tonight, sat down at a table that was just leaving and the server came to tell me that they can’t seat 6 people at an 8 top. Okay. So they were just going to wait to seat that table until a group of 8 showed up?? Went to stand with the rest of my party and noticed that there was one person at a 4-top. Went to speak with the server and asked her about it, she said that he had other people coming 🤷🏼‍♀️ However only one menu at the table. She then went and told us that I was rude and she wasn’t going to serve us. She then went and got her manager. I told the manager what had occurred and asked why they couldn’t split it into two 3-tops. Dumb but whatever works. The server continued to say she wasn’t going to serve us and this was her section, the manager told us to leave. Very very poor management. Oh, and also, is a seat...

Ok.... I don't usually give out 5 Stars,. BUT... The Blue Cheese Burger was one of the top three specialty burgers I have ever ate. The burger to bun ratio was perfect and the blue cheese topping was devine.... Add the fact that the meat was cooked to perfection and you have a great meal. Tried to be a little more healthier with the sides and turned out the fresh vegetables were great. My wife got their version of sliders and she enjoyed them as well as Our Son got the Chicken fingers and they were great. Atmosphere on a Saturday was good timing, not to crowded and the place was well decorated. Our waitress was awesome as well. Never had to ask for refills on sodas and had a great attitude. Wish we had a Tanner's in NC..... would put local name brand restaurants out of business.

Only regret there isn't one...
