Stopped by for dinner on a very busy Saturday night (our first two sit-down restaurant options were already super crowded) while in town for a performance nearby. Parking was impossible (lots of orders being picked up) for my large SUV, so I parked on the side street. We seated ourselves and went to the counter to order. My daughters got plain pizza and meat lovers’ slices. One got a cheeseburger. I am on an eating plan, so no refined carbs for me, so I ordered the BBQ chicken salad. All of our orders were out in a timely fashion and correct (requested no mayo on burger). My salad was amazing! Super fresh greens, delicious chicken (I should have asked for double the chicken, as my plan requires 4-6 oz per meal.), and even decorative curls of fresh carrot. The irony is that a mom and pop cafe couldn’t accommodate my dietary needs that earlier that day, but a PIZZA place menu could! Decor is typical of the pizza joints near us in Jersey. Owner waited on us himself, and he was very friendly and polite. He made in error in ringing us up, figured it out quickly, and re-rang it. Told him to keep the change, and he shook his head no and gave me all of the change and told me to just put a few bucks in the tip jar. $42 for four people - three large fountain drinks, a bottle of water, four slices (two plain, two meat lovers), a cheeseburger, and a large salad. That is a great value! Pizza is pretty similar to what we get in South Jersey from our local Italian-owned places. We would definitely stop by again when...
Read moreMy wife and I really used to enjoy a good ole cheese pizza. It's the only thing we ever ate other than the grandmas pie. Unless Joe cooked us up a little something to try. Both pizzas were always top tier when Joe was around and making the pies. That's the issue we noticed over the past months regardless of when we stop in. Joe's nowhere to be found. I was told he is handing the business over to a friend essentially. I don't know if there's any truth to that. Regardless it's lost some of its authenticity and the taste to the atmosphere has all declined unfortunately over the past 2-3 months.
Then again Joe for our family is what made the experience that much better and like home if you will. Probably wouldn't return anymore though as truly the staff isn't as pleasant nor do they seem to want to know you personally. The TLC in the pizza just seems to be missing now and I have an extremely high standard for pizza that's of the likes of NYC to New Haven, CT and Angelos in Philadelphia. Do take into consideration my family doesn't live close and we drive 45 minutes to eat here or when we're visiting Lancaster. That said, Joe's a class act and all my family really enjoyed being around his shop and talking with him. Times change though and if he indeed is taking a step back, I can only leave this honest review. Perhaps for him to provide feedback to whomever runs it now and our family wishes him only the best in the future! He always treated us well and spoke...
Read moreOn the way home from a trip. Wanted pizza so looked for the highest rated long way home and came across this place. We walked in the side door. Came to the counter the guys like what you want we are like dont know what we want. He said menu is here. You eating in or take said take seat and come up front to order. We ordered pizza and cheese fries. Sat down to chill out and the place def had an interesting atmosphere they ran with Brooklyn them made you feel like the city vibe and mobster wanted poster and mobster memorabilia. It was fun for sure but was little dated. The food and drink was the star of the show. The cheese fries had amazing cheese sauce on it and was the best i had in long time. The pizza had had multiple meat and vegetables on the pizza. They balanced out all the toppings well and nice crunch to it and wasn't a greasy mess. The fountain soda was mixed right and had a good flavor to it.
Service was little dicey but the food was good. I think the service and attitude just goes with the charm of theme of this place. Def check this out if your in the area for atmosphere of brooklyn and some good food. How...
