This Resort is amazing! 5 stars because there is nothing negative about it. It’s in a great location, just a short drive from the DMV area. It is close to restaurants and main attractions such as Dutch Wonderland (if you’re a toddler Mom like me). Honestly, if you’re looking for a nice Resort that is giving “Caribbean vacation” then this is your spot. Parking: ample parking, with no restrictions. They have multiple entrances so after checking in, accessing your car is a breeze. Check-In: Painless! I actually checked in ahead of time using the link that was emailed to me…I uploaded a pic of my Driver’s license and Credit card info so upon arrival, they needed nothing! My room wasn’t ready but we used that as an opportunity to check out the resort and all amenities. I received a call shortly after saying that the room was ready, which was around 2:30- not bad bc check in is actually 4pm. Check-out: Also Painless! Left the room keys and towel cards on the designated tray in the room and headed out. A link was sent to my email the night before check out asking what time we intended to leave, and I received a copy of my bill that morning. No issues! Brunch: A Must Do!!! The Sunday Champagne Brunch was very nice! I do recommend that you book online ahead of time because spots do fill up fast! We had done some research so we requested reservations when we booked. Live music, many good options (omelet station, pasta station, soooo many deserts), and and they give one complimentary Mimosa…a very nice touch! They were very accommodating and the waitress was very kind. They do have high chairs and they actually look like they clean them…also nice! *If you’re a germaphobic Mom, like me, then you know why I added the last comment lol. Pools: So relaxing, never over crowded, and you can always find a recliner with an umbrella. Most areas offered some shade but I love the sun so it didn’t matter one way or the other to me because we spent most of the time in the pool. 2 outdoor pools- both heated, 1 indoor pool- heated, and a kids splash pad area with 2 (9inch pools)- soooooo adorable! We actually came for the Splash pad lol. If you have little ones then you already know- you gonna respect their need for independence! I have toddler twins age 2 and this area gave them the freedom to enjoy the water in a safe, responsible way! You literally can sit on the side and watch them explore without the fear that they will drown. The 1 outdoor pool starts at like 3-4ft and goes up to like 7ft. The other outdoor pool starts at like 1-2ft and goes up to 9ft…it’s about the same in the indoor pool. Food options: If I would complain about anything…it would be the lack of food options; however, I’m not going to complain because the on property gas station/convenient store is walking distance, Carraba’s restaurant is across the street, and there are a few other spots, maybe about a 5min drive away. There are like 2 on-site restaurants and a pool side Food Truck (pretty good options) and pool side Mobile bar (non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages) . The prices were not bad at all! And I love that you can add the charges to your room so you don’t have to lug around purse/credit cards/etc. Rooms: spacious and very convenient with the in-room microwave and mini fridge. Bed was comfortable and they gave you a lot of pillows! Sofa bed; however, NOT so comfortable. They have so many room options so my suggestion would be to select a room option with another queen bed instead of the sofa bed. Love that my room had a balcony and it does have enough seating for 4 with a table. Room was Very clean and house keeping was very polite and kind. Property: The grounds are well maintained and very clean. The lobby was very clean and modern looking. The pool overall was clean but there was visible hair spotted in it at times; however, in fairness it was later in the day. Public bathrooms were clean and I did witness housekeeping cleaning on multiple occasions.
Overall, very very nice experience and I would recommend this Resort to anyone looking...
Read moreUnsatisfactory cleanliness and service.
Our biggest issue with this hotel is the cleanliness. I have read numerous reviews that mentioned crumbs and food in various places so you would think that management would do some kind of housekeeping protocol overhaul. But no. There were food crumbs under the dining room table (cheerios, not ours).
The hot water cut off for some reason while my husband was showering and there was a mysterious beeping behind the headboard of the master bed. That turned out to be the space where maintenance had to reset the hot water heater. While the maintenance man was very nice, they had to remove the HUGE headboard and lay the enormous dusty thing right on the bed. When we moved the end table so the man could reach the headboard, there were food crumbs and a sock behind there. I was disgusted. Honestly, what is housekeeping doing if not vacuuming at least? I saw other guests post pictures of crumbs between mattress and platform bed edge and sure enough, there were crumbs on ours too.
At this point management needs to realize that people eat in the beds! Please clean accordingly! Stuff like this really grosses people out and causes us not to come back. The couch in the living area smelled bad. I don’t know if people sit on it in wet bathing suits or what but it smelled mildewy and sweaty. I had a really hard time getting comfortable sitting anywhere. Please clean the pull out pocket doors that separate rooms from bathrooms. Ours had either food or bodily fluid marks on it. We shouldn’t have to wonder if it’s chocolate, strawberry jam, or something worse.
Please clean the dishes and don’t rely on your guests to do that. I took a couple of plates out of the cabinet and they had food bits dried on them. I know that happens sometimes even after being in the dishwasher but it’s just one more thing to add to the list of things that grossed me out. I had to wash all dishes and utensils before using them.
There aren’t enough staff members to meet guests’ needs. The line to check in was way too long and the clerk wasn’t even remotely friendly. He put two $950 holds on the card instead of one and just blew it off and said one would go away. It didn’t and another woman told us that should not have happened, it was his mistake. He was an unfriendly and unhelpful person. We used a credit card but would warn others to NOT USE A DEBIT CARD FOR THIS or you will Risk overdrawing your account and no one will remove it.
It is so hard to get help on the phone! Either from the room phone or cell phone or texting. Our texts barely got answered and even then it was so long after the fact. We were in a villa so it was too far to walk every time we needed something.
There was one woman who was very nice and called later on to check after I had texted about the water going off. But aside from her friendliness and the nice maintenance guy, we really didn’t have any encounter that showed good customer service or the desire for the hotel to have repeat customers.
I hate giving negative reviews and I still think this place would be enjoyable for families with young kids but this is a warning to guests to check for crumbs and overall cleanliness right away and report it immediately. And I also hope management does better at taking these reviews to heart because it seems like the housekeeping issues are ongoing and not...
Read moreWe stayed at this resort and this my review.
We had Reservation at 4pm but room wasn't ready. Had to wait in long line at lobby and finally when it was my turn ,the front desk empolyee ( black gentleman supervisor? )let 2 people cut in front of me without even acknowledged that I was in line.
One of the remote light control in kids room ( stayed at Villas) wouldn't turn off and the maintenance wanted to fix the light structure which will take time out of our busy day, which I declined. I was told they had to take the entire Ceiling fan off and figure out what was going on while all my kids belongings were on bed. I would definitely agree that's the way to go but I'm on vacation and shouldn't deal with maintenance and had to be there with them because I have dogs on property. I don't understand why they didn't do a pre inspection especially we didn't get into our rental until 430ish.
One of my kids sustained a cut on feet in the indoor pool due to their flooring. The attendant showed lack of care eventhough we were 5 feet from her station and there were blood on tiles. When we asked her for a first aid kit, it took another lady who was wearing red shirt, which later identified as a supervisor to produce 2 kids sized band aid and nothing else after waiting 10 to 15 minutes while my child is crying in pain. I don't understand why they didn't have a first aid kit on-site especially in the pool areas. They only want to harrass kids by not allowing them in the hotub even being supervised by an adult. They don't even care about the cemetic flooring was full of water paddles which is a slipped and fall Hazard which my daughter also slipped and fall.
4 Next day I went to the front desk to ask for more band aid, it was when a gentleman who was guarding the front door assisted me . He only came out with 4 kids sized bandaid and told me they don't have anymore and started to give me direction to a drug store. I then stated why does the entire resort only have 4 bandaid and this gentleman gave an attitude by starring at me for seconds holding himself back from arguing with me. He lied to me by giving me 2 more bandaid. At that time I came to a conclusion that this resort doesn't care about the safety of customers. So if you get injuried on their property, you are on your own.
I dont know when was last time they shampooed the carpet. We were wearing socks and when we looked at the underneath, theywere black. This is a sign of dirty carpet.
I regret staying there and costed about 3000 for 5 days at the villas. I would think the staff would be more professional and the property would be more cleaner, considering staying at Villas which costs about...
