Today was a glorious day to have sushi in a place I have never ventured before. I am very new to visiting Lancaster and being from Harrisburg, there are only 2 places, in my opinion, to get quality sushi in the city due to having tried about 9/10 of the Japanese/ Asian-fusion restaurants all over the city. This afternoon my boyfriend and I were very hungry from moving and setting up his new dorm room at Thaddeus Stevens School of Technology so our first instinct was something light, yet filling - of course I chose to look up what the best sushi in the area is. It just so happened to be that this brand spanking new business is a short drive from the dorms and the prices couldn't be beat for the lunch specials on the easily accessible online menu. I have never seen such a selection for lunch! We decided on the sushi roll lunch. For this you could choose from a list of various types of rolls for a two - roll option; or three-roll. It comes with miso soup and salad with ginger dressing on the side...my fave! I called and the girl who answered was so soft spoken and sweet mannered. She took my order quickly and I ended up adding two Thai iced teas with the order since it was supposedly a house recipe and they were priced very reasonably compared to most places I've been to. 20 minutes later I pull up to the cute strip mall where the restaurant is located in between other small businesses (conveniently by the train station and highway at that)! I walked through the welcoming door and found myself in a dimly lit, comfortable dining room with modern zen decor and just good vibes all around. The waitress that I was on the phone with greeted me and said she will go get my order snd ring me up...i was entertained while waiting since the owners friendly young son was quietly being silly behind the counter. I ended up talking to the woman who I believe is the owner and she asked how I found out about them. We talked for a little until the girl came back to give me my order and ring me up. Everyone I came in contact so far were lovely souls and with very fast service! Now THAT is hard to come by! My boyfriend and I enjoyed our food very much!! I WILL be back to this quaint sushi bar to dine AND TIP...lovely people, fast service, great food, plus...

From when you step through the door, you notice that this Asian restaurant is different than other Asian eateries. The interior design is not just tasteful but elegant. Simple furnishings with soft colors create an ambience for a nice dinner.
When I had walked in, the person who greeted me was who I would come to find out to be the owner's wife. Her name is Jessica, and she was very friendly and unafraid to make conversation. A+ in my book for ANY Asian restaurant! She has a pleasant Chinese accent. I asked her what she liked, and she recommended something off-menu. Another brownie point.
I took her suggestion and added the pictured satay - all to-go. Her quote time was 10 minutes but it seemed like 5. She came over while I was waiting and continued a conversation with me. I found out they only had the restaurant for a year and a half. Her son (his name is Felix) was helping her. He's probably about 7 or 8. He was a little shy but also carried conversation with me. It wasn't long before my order was up.
Eating the food as I smear the sauces across my phone's screen, I have to say that the satay was very nice! A high quality appetizer! The pineapple fried rice (off-menu) is delicious. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it's a slight bit spicy, enough to barely tingle, and sweet with bits of pineapple and raisins (and I HATE raisins) and meaty with shrimp and chicken! I would recommend this dish because you won't find it anywhere else!
With any restaurant, you don't just go for the food, you go for the experience. This place has it! You won't regret it! It's worth the price!

Read moreI found that the food (excluding rolls/sushi) was not any better than most Chinese takeout restaurants. And I ordered a "Japanese" entree, go figure. I ordered side of beef hibachi med rare and side of chicken hibachi. It was the typical sweet sauce thickened with cornstarch that you get at the food court at any shopping mall. I really expected more effort.
It seems like they do a nice job with Tuna Rolls, etc. but I don't find it very safe to eat any kind of fish, at any restaurant this far inland. My rule is if I can't see, smell or hear the ocean I won't eat fish. I've traveled throughout Asia and have enjoyed great sashimi and other raw meats (never any rolls), so it's not that I don't like sushi. My point is that it's fine if your sushi game is good, just make sure the rest of the menu is also great. What I ordered and what my wife ordered was very mediocre.
I thought their service was subpar. I asked for a napkin and never got it. They didn't get around to refilling water. The staff just lacked friendliness. There was a large group of 30 there, but that's never an excuse to skimp on service for the rest of your customers.
The bathroom was gross. Here's why: only cold water to wash your hands. That's disgusting. I let water run for at least 2 minutes then gave up... never warmed up.
