I am a residential home owner that had gone to Penn stone to get pavers for a back yard patio. I walked up to the counter and told a guy what I was looking for. He took me out to the paver section and started talking prices, I told him I was looking for $1.88 each, and he said they only can do$ 3.88 almost walking out of there I asked him per sq foot or paver?- it was per sq. Foot. I felt rushed and was not given any info or educated about the types of pavers I was looking at. I wasn't asking for how it was made, tumbled, colored, but at least tell me about maintenance. I knew what design we wanted and how many sq feet, so most of that work was done. I even had a comparison of a home depot print out, for him to look at. We then went inside and he made up a quote off of what I had asked for. I then left , and called later to go ahead with the quote. Stupid me should have had our brick layer look at the po before getting the quote because everything that the guy had on the po was wrong. The color, and the amount of stone needed, no caps etc. Now our project may be pushed back bc we had to RE do the order several times because they forget to put something on there. thanks to the non paying attention to detail ppl at Penn stone. Our project is supposed to get done this weekend and still no word on if we will get the stone in time. My word of advice you if you are a resident, if you are doing a job with Penn stone, bring the designer and brick layer with you and pick the stone out with them. Don't depend on Penn stone to give you the info that you need. They are obviously used to working with the contractor, not residents. They will rush you through and miss...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAlways liked dealing with Penn stone in the past and to be fair they still treat us pretty good when delivering product to our job sites, but lately their customer service is extremely poor when stopping in to pickup product at the yard. The last couple times we were there it seemed as though the yard workers thought we were a bother, and after being the only customer parked there for 10 minutes finally flagged down a fork lift driver to tell him he needs to load us.. and the one time I even almost had to help the worker find the product I wanted.. even though it's a very common product. As I said before I used to like dealing with this company but it seemed like there choice to mandate the vaccine for their workers maybe got rid of all their food employees... Sad that they put politics ahead of customer...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came to Penn stone for the first time because I taught both of the Mcgrann kids. I keep coming back because of every employee I interact with during each visit. Amy, Linda, Gertrude, Gertrudeās mom, Jay, the other nice lady working the desk, the other helpful guy who helped load my rocks and finally the very nice man in the other side who answered my many questions about weed barrier fabric: Thank you all so much for making me feel like your most important customer! Really. I got so much attention and help that Iām still impressed a week later by how well I was treated. So helpful, so friendly, so knowledgeable. So impressed! I am inventing things that need to be done around my house so I can come back. A+ Penn Stone. Weāll done. You will forever have me as a...
