Dali's Cafe — Restaurant in Manitowoc

I've been here twice and I like to support the local places. That said, I'm not understanding all of the positive reviews. The space is beautiful, the menu is good and the food is fine, but that's where it ends. The first time I went they had probably 10 tables worth of people on a summer morning. It took FOREVER to get the food. It was good but the food was slow. I was still willing to give them another try however.

I recently went in on a weekday morning with my mom. There was one other customer in the entire place and he appeared to be a friend of the guy who was working. We were seated right away and offered coffee. Then the waited went and talked to the other guy for a solid 10 minutes while deliberately avoiding eye contact with us. When he ended the conversation, I assumed he was coming to take our order. He was not. He went behind the counter and was doing something for several minutes. At this point my mom and I walked out and went elsewhere. I start work at 9 AM and was trying to get together with my mom beforehand.

I have not been back since. When I drive by this place is generally empty. I have to assume that others have had similar experiences with the service otherwise this place would be busier. They have a prime location and virtually no competition for breakfast Downtown right now so they should...

I was in town visiting with my 2 kids and was very disappointed when we went for breakfast. When we first walked in it was like no one wanted to seat us. The place was basically dead. POSITIVE...the atmosphere and place was gorgeous. After 5 minutes someone came to seat us. Waitress took our order fairly quick and the food was brought to our table in 5 minutes. To my disbelief on how quick it was my food was burnt and tasteless. My children's food was soggy from the pineapples and juices from them that was on top of their pancakes. My bill came with in 5 minutes after we got our food while we were still eating. We felt rushed. After being disappointed we cleared our table and stacked our dishes to go pay. We waited 8 minutes at the counter to pay after the waitress/hostess looked at me and started clearing tables and cleaning them making us wait. When she was done she came and took my payment never asking how everything was, without looking at me with her head down the entire time. No eye contact what so ever. I even left a 40 percent tip after my whole ordeal. I will never go back and would not recommend for people of color to go there because I have a feeling that had a lot to do with my service and how we...

I walked in and was surprised at how nice it was. Sat down and seats were extremely comfortable. It was really cold so I kept my coat on. I wanted it to be comfortable enough to take my jacket off while eating but its an old building so I didnt get mad over that. I ordered taco salad that had no taste except of onions. Blah! My husband ordered the Dolli burger and it was so overcooked and the bun was hard and burnt. The waitress could hardly speak english and didnt understand us. We asked for ketchup for my husbands burger and she decided to stop and talk to another table and then sat another couple and took there drink order before getting the ketchup. So the food was completely cold by time he got to eat. My husband also asked for a glass of water before we got the food and she didnt end up giving it to him until we were done eating. She never refilled my drink either. We got chicken noodle soup as well and it was all broth with a few noodles and no chicken. I would not...
