Every time I go there it’s uncomfortable. The older guy is very nice but the really big guy (the son) and the older woman are never pleasant to work with. This was our last time there because what happened was absolutely wrong. He was at the drink stand, just one table away btw, and as we’re wrapping up we politely called to him and he ignored us..so we thought maybe he didn’t hear us and called again..and again..at this point it’s clear he’s intentionally ignoring us. As we called to him one last time he looked at us and just walked away. Just like that lol Never returned! He refused to come and offer service even though he speaks the best English in the entire place. So we’re sitting there in disbelief and go up to the stand calling to someone in the back to come get us our check cause that’s all we wanted lol to pay for our food and leave. No one came for minutes and it ended up being the none English speaking cook (who’s very nice btw) and we struggled to communicate with each other but she tried her best and we thanked her for it. It’s honestly sad because their food is the best tacos in town but we won’t be back. I doubt they care lol cause they made that clear. but it is what it is. Chips and salsa: Chips were a white corn chip that had salt on it. Some of the chips were warm some were cold. Some of the chips came across as stale. The salsa was oily and doesn’t come across as a salsa. There is no spice and it was almost flavorless - 1
Lime Margartia on the Rocks: They only serve it in one size…big. It was a good margarita, but more on the sweeter side - 3
Steak Taco: Flavor: 3 Fullness: 3 Appearance: 3
The meat had a nice subtle seasoning on it and there was no fatty or gristly pieces. The meat was on the drier side unfortunately. The amount of meat on each taco was very inconsistent too. The tortillas were nicely fried on the flattop too.
Chicken Taco: Flavor: 4 Fullness: 3 Appearance: 4.5
The chicken was grilled and was seasoned really good
Service: The server was very sweet and our food was made correctly. Service was on the slower side - 4

Read moreThis is a familiar small town, small family, small business place here in Manitowoc. Attached to a small grocery store, you might stop in for lunch or dinner and then pick up some fresh vegetables next door! They accept cards and currently require at least a $5 total purchase . Mexican candy, spices, herbs, meats, snacks and drinks of all kind (alcohol is beer only at the store). The store also offers hygiene products, dish soap, laundry detergent, and many other daily necessities. There are even some kitchen supplies to be found. Most anytime I have visited there are both Spanish and English speaking people working there and able to help you. Stop by with the family sometime to check it out when you are able to visit both the restaurant and the store. It's a treat and you are supporting small business and the city!
UPDATE: 01/20/2023
