I’m very picky about the Chinese food I eat. I stumbled across this cute Chinese food truck here in Manor, TX one day and got curious to try them out. Last night I ordered a serving of Shrimp Fried Rice and Beef Lo-Mein. The staff was courteous and answered all of my questions about their menu. Mind you I showed up thirty minutes before closing. They only have one size for everything, so one plate of Shrimp Fried Rice came to $16.50 and a plate of Beef Lo-Mein came to $16.25 without tax. The servings are huge in portion, I was a bit overwhelmed because it was only for me and nobody else. However the food is prepared fresh and hot off the pan. The food tastes great the only thing is the shrimp on the Fried Rice, maybe don’t put breading on the shrimp and leave it as is. It was a bit strange to me because all the Shrimp Fried Rice I’ve eaten the shrimp is cooked without any breading on it. Plus the steam from the rice makes the breading on the shrimp a bit soggy and fall/break off. Just leave the shrimp bare but other than that everything was great. I was stuffed with just one plate from both menu items. I’ll try to eat some more leftovers but I fear I got so much I won’t be able to...
Read moreExcellent experience at Bamboo Express. I saw the ratings and had to see what the re ave was all about. I'm from Boston and Chinese food is kind of a family ritual that died when we went to Florida and then Texas.
Bamboo Express brought that feeling back into play. My family was visiting and this place delivered. The woman working the phone/ register was helpful and friendly. The chef was on point. We loved the General Tso, Low Mein, Rice & Hunan Beef.
The honesty is important too. I asked if the Lo Mein would feed 2, they said yes and it over delivered. A healthy 2 person serving. Also they're the first place to honestly brand their crab rangoon by shooting it straight and calling them cream cheese wontons. This was funny and awesome at the same time.
I'd highly reccomend this place and will be back anytime we are relaxing as a family and looking to...
Read moreTucked away in Manor, TX, I stumbled across a Chinese food truck that I’d never tried before, and I have to say — it was a pleasant surprise.
The menu had a solid mix of classics (think fried rice, lo mein, and dumplings) along with a few house specials. I went with [insert what you ordered] to get a sense of their style. The portion was generous, served hot, and the flavors were comforting in that familiar take-out way, but with a little extra freshness you don’t always get from bigger chains.
The service was friendly and quick, and even though it’s a food truck setup, everything felt clean and well put together. Prices were very reasonable for the amount of food you get, which makes it an easy go-to if you’re craving Chinese on the fly.
Overall, for a first visit, I’d say this truck is worth checking out if you’re in Manor. Get the...
