Don’t judge a book by its cover. Driving up to the building I figured this would be “Just Another BBQ Shop”, but once I entered the decorative theme was interesting, and unique. It was very clean, small but adequate enough for a dozen or so customers to dine in. Got my order to dine in of Pork Steak, Mash potatoes with gravy, Mac n cheese and a couple slices of brisket. First the brisket, seasoned and smoked just right. It was juicy, tender, delicious, had a perfect smoke ring, with just the right amount of seasoning. It practically melted in my mouth. It’s the best true Texan brisket I’ve had. The pork steak was amazing also. The fresh ground peppercorn along with other spices gave it a little zing. The pork steak also had a nice smoke ring, cooked to a perfection, not undercooked or overcooked, but tender enough to cut with a fork if you wanted to. The Mac and cheese was also delicious, I like how it was cooked fresh and to a nice creamy consistency. The elbow noodles were also perfectly, they still held their shape not over cooked and soggy. Now finally the mash potatoes. They are homemade mash potatoes, not instant or powdered. Great consistency flavoring. Overall I have to give this 10 out of 10, 2 thumbs up. I definitely will be eating here again and I would recommend this to anyone who wants true southern Texas BBQ!

I've always said that the very best barbeque doesn't need any sauce. Barbeque that's just fine can be made great by a really good sauce. I wish this place had better sauce. The green beans were some of the best I've ever had. They were FULL of flavor and cooked perfectly! I would seriously go back just for more green beans! The meat wasn't bad, but there is much better to be had. I like more seasoning and flavor in my meats. They had 3 different kinds of sauce, but neither myself or my friend liked any of them. One was marked to be KC Masterpiece, but it was very watered down or something, because it was really thin and tasted bland. The deserts looked awesome, but we didn't get to try any this time. They looked like the kind Grandma always had when she had family over to visit. Cobblers, chocolate cake in a bug Tupperware container, pumpkin pie... all very yummy looking! The look of the place is classic! Super hole-in-the-wall atmosphere with lots of personality. The floor is slanted in spots, but I think it adds to the charm. The people were friendly and service was fast. I will go back and give it another try (I'm going to crave those green beans now that I've had them!).

As a new Manor local, I'm getting to know the local food joints. This place is small and completely unassuming but wow! Their bbq is so good. I've lived in Texas a very long time and their bbq is really good. We each ordered the 3 Meat Plate for $13.99 and comes with 2 sides. First off, the portions are quite large and larger than most bbq places I've been to which was so welcomed. On one plate we ordered the brisket with was so good and had that perfect smoke ring. Next was the sausage which were really good. Then there was the pork ribs which had a great crust, great flavor and fall apart delicious. The sides on the plate were green beans which were so fresh and flavorful and their very unassuming Mac N Cheese which was so good. The next plate had Brisket, Turkey and Chicken with Mac N Cheese and Mashed Potatoes. It was ALL Really Good! Go here and check out this delicious local BBQ joint and enjoy! It's worth it!

People actually like this place?

Okay 1st off, the location is terrible. It looks like some sort of slum lord trailer. I was afraid to leave my car outside.

When we walked in, nobody greeted us. It was a room full of teenagers behind the counter, w/ one Hispanic man. I ordered a brisket sandwich w/ extra pickles. 1st lemme say, when I went to grab a tray to set my plate on- I noticed there was a fly on it (the place was FULL of flies). I assumed it was a live fly so I tried to shake it off, it wasn't alive!! So a giant DEAD FLY was just sitting there on the tray & they never noticed!

Meanwhile I realize they didn't give me pickles, so I mention this. The boy behind the counter says oh here ma'am, you forgot them & hands me a PAPER BAG w/ about 4 pickles in it. I told him that wasn't extra pickles & he asks for my PAPER BAG BACK so he can give me more. I told him that was disgusting & he literally said "I know" & grabbed a paper cup instead. He didn't even get me fresh pickles! He just took the old pickles out of the PAPER BAG & put them in the paper cup, along w/ the extra pickles.

We finally get to sit down & I realize I don't wanna sit anywhere in this DUMP! Every table was filthy, every chair was filthy, every bit of the floor was covered in SOMETHING. The whole place was disgusting, as if they never clean it! No wonder there's flies everywhere! There's PLENTY for them to munch on!

So we clean up our table (to the best of our ability). I (against my better judgement) took a bite of my brisket sandwich & it was full of fat! Mostly fat! There was no making it taste better either bc their bbq sauce was awful!! & the squirt bottles the sauce comes in were also FILTHY. The macaroni was cold, the potato salad was HORRENDOUS! My husband ribs were mostly bone!... We spent $40 to eat @ this filthy dump. Not to mention what price our stomachs paid for this visit later!!!!

What a waste! My husband was beyond apologetic to me for picking this place. He felt awful.

The point is- don't go here. Ever. It's a dump. This establishment is a filthy pigs sty, the food is worthy of a trash can & the service is EMBARRASSING.

Save your money & go somewhere else,...

I live in the DFW area and stop here about 10 to 15 times a year for the last few years while in the central TX area working. I will travel out of the way to eat the pork ribs from here.

I have tried just about everything on the menu here and, just like all of us, they have had a couple of "off" days but nothing worth complaining about. If you have a bad experience, like I have read in some of the reviews, Gary or his brother would be more than happy to make it right I am quite sure.

The brisket is tender and juicy with just the right amount of fat on it. The sausage is impeccably flavored (although the casing is a little thick but the meat overcomes that issue). The baby backs are great, just not my favorite kind of rib! The mac n cheese is the bomb. The chicken is juicy with just the right amount of smoke. The cakes are homemade and you better get some while you can if you see any.

But my favorite part.................the pork ribs......WOW! I am absolutely spoiled from eating ribs anywhere else, believe me I have tried. Between the rub and the smoke on these babies to the fat being rendered down so much so that it's hard to distinguish where the meat ends and the fat begins. I'm telling you, if you sauce these bad boys you are ruining the experience. Sometimes I'll go and get a couple of pounds and that's all I will have for my meal. They are absolutely..........outrageously perfect.

Kudos to TTBBQ and to Gary and his family for staying consistent and true to...
