I don't like to write negative reviews about local businesses, but I have to after last night's experience.
At the initial opening of DQ everything was great. By the second visit onward, my ice cream was always served half melted. Initially, I assumed they had equipment issues and gave them the benefit of the doubt. After the second trip, I realized this is how they choose to operate, so I stopped going to DQ.
A few weeks ago, I decided to give DQ another chance, and I was pleasantly surprised that the ice cream wasn't half-melted and looked great. The staff even flipped my blizzard, which is the bare minimum expected of a blizzard order.
On my second visit, though, the ice cream wasn't as cold, and my blizzard wasn't flipped, but it was still visually decent.
Then there was last night's visit. The service was quick, but every cup and cone they handed me had chocolate smears on the outside, so I had to clean them up as they were handed to me, and then attempt to clean my hands with dry napkins before touching my steering wheel. My blizzard was a complete mess, all melted, did not look at all like last time despite having reordered the same blizzard, and definitely not flipped.
Ten hours later both my husband and I each awoke from a deep sleep by the need to vomit. We can't be sure it was the DQ, but it was the most questionable thing we ate that day, and the timing raises concerns.
Despite its convenient location, I'm hesitant to go back unless they make some improvements. I don't like half-melted ice cream and want to avoid any food poisoning in the future potentially caused by an inability to maintain proper temperature control and cleanliness for their food.
Edit to add: I reached out to corporate about this today as well. DQ has a potential to be a great establishment. I hope they do their...
Read moreDon’t waste your time ordering online. Imagine a place like this, that sells primarily ice cream, not thinking it would be a smart idea to make your ice cream and put it in a freezer. That’s the level of incompetence you are dealing with here. If you order any type of ice cream online, you will get a message saying your order is ready to pick up, but they actually haven’t even looked at it. Instead they now want you to sit in the drivethru. Obviously you can’t expect people to understand the reason you order from home is SO YOU DON’T HAVE TO WAIT IN THE DRIVE THRU. But that’s not all, once I got there, they casually tell me to pull around. I wait in line for 20 minutes, for them to tell me they are out of ice cream. So let’s recap: I order ice cream online from my house. I get a notification that it’s ready for pickup. I drive to the store to find locked doors. I have to wait in the drive thru for them to explain a DAIRY QUEEN has no ice cream. I asked, why not just cancel the order online when I was at my house? Why make me drive all the way here? They said they ”just found out” , then some idiot who looked like he had been chewing on gravel brought his filthy gapped teeth put of the back to try to argue with me. Let’s be clear: if you have NEVER seen a dentist, you shouldn’t be seen anywhere near people’s food. They will instantly lose their lunch and I almost vomited on site. Whomever is running this establishment needs to get it together, because somehow you had 5 people with enough time to look me in the face while I got my refund, but nobody to mind your ice cream inventory before your building runs out. It’s been years since I’ve been to a Dairy Queen and I thought I would give it a shot for old times sake, but it’s clear times have changed. Stay as far away from this place as...
Read moreWorst location I have ever encountered. This evening around 7:45pm visited this location thru the drive thru. There were 5 cars in front of us. Line moved very slowly and took about 25 minutes to get to the ordering box. When we got to the speaker the lady who was taking our order sounded frustrated and upset. She started taking our order and then told us to hold on because they were short staffed. Left us waiting over 5 minutes before she came back to take our order. Again she became frustrated and began giving us attitude. I asked her to please keep her attitude to herself and she right away said "have a good night and refused to take our order. I went inside and there was about 6 people waiting inside. I asked for the operator's number or their manager and a girl walks up to the front counter to ask what I needed. I asked her for the operator or higher managers number and she began being smart with me and arguing. I told her that was no way to treat customers and she didn't seem to care. When I looked at her name tag, it said Lexie and identified her as an assistant manager. I walked out. I will never return to this location. It is very unorganized, unprofessional manager, which now I think that if this is the way she treats customers with an attitude, I wonder how she treats the staff. Maybe that's why they don't have workers and are ways short staffed because of her behavior and attitude. Great example from the leadership team to their staff. The worst Dairy Queen I have ever visited and will never return to this location. I feel bad for the workers who have to put up with this type of leadership. I don't blame them for not showing up to work. Take ur business elsewhere and to a business who value their customers and treat them with respect. The rude assistant manager with the...
