El Pollo Rico — Restaurant in Manor

I’m writing my experience when I visited a couple weeks ago I tried the bowl and I was very clear and asked we are vegetarian. To let them know that we don’t eat pork and then I told the lady does. This has pork say no no no pork but it has chicken. I told her OK. I’m OK with chicken only but no pork anything has pork. I don’t eat apparently the cashier who took my order doesn’t speak English And she was not paying attention. Or maybe she doesn’t know how serious it is when somebody doesn’t eat pork and he get the pork and his plate I went to the cashier. I said I ordered this and what is this they say this is pork. I said I don’t eat pork and the manager was looking for the person who took my order. It makes me so nervous and annoyed. I am a customer and I didn’t touch the plate and I have the right to return the food. If there is any problem, she could have done this argument with the staff after I leave not while I am hungry and I have limited time to eat. She was unprofessional at all, and she is not eligible to take this position. I don’t blame the cashier because since she was not trained properly, she was very nice person but not trained properly and nobody guide her and you guys think everybody is Mexican. There is other nationalities living inthis city so please consider English and teach your staff how to speak English and tell them about other cultures I don’t recommend anybody to visit this restaurant at all from what I saw. The food was not good at...

The WORST customer service!!! I've never had El Pollo Rico before but really wanted to try it. After the service I was given TWICE, I will never go back.

The first time, I went through the drive thru and waited for someone to take my order at the intercom. Nobody helped me so I pulled up to the window after waiting 15 min just to be told I have to go inside to order b/c I didn't order at the intercom. I explained nobody helped me, that I only needed 1 item and couldn't get off b/c I had my little one with me.. I was still told they couldn't help me. There were multiple cars behind me and I didn't want to get back in line so I left.

Today, I went through the drive thru and ordered a kids meal, 1/2 chicken meal, and a burrito. I get home and our order was wrong/they forgot items. They forgot the kids quesadilla and the burrito. I called to let them know and they acknowledged that they had my food. They accidentally gave me a whole chicken order instead of half and wanted me to take the whole chicken back. I told them no b/c my daughter needed to eat dinner after THEY forgot her meal. I go back to get the food they didn't give me and they wanted me to pay for the whole chicken meal. WHAT?! 🤯 The lady said she wanted me to take the chicken back to count how many pieces they gave me and throw away the extra!! Why throw away food?? I ended up asking for a refund for the kids meal and burrito....

(OVERALL RATING: 3.5 stars due to the negatives I mention) - The whole chicken combos are delicious. The spices are delicious and perfect. It's amazingly good chicken cooked to perfection over a wood smoke rotisserie. One negative about this place is their prices are high. It's around $18 for the combo, which is really just the cost of cooking a chicken, since staples like beans and rice are super inexpensive. My biggest problem is the super small side portions for a meal that has enough meat to feed 3-4 people.

The combo comes with a small side of Spanish rice and Charro beans that are enough for about 1.5 servings each respectively. This is sad because if they would give you a tiny bit more of these inexpensive staples, you could feed a small family with it, which would totally justify the price. It also comes with around 6 corn tortillas, a pretty spicy sour cream based green salsa and a roasted onion in case you want to turn your chicken into tacos.

This review is entirely my opinion. I would highly recommend you try this place out for yourself. I don't like to give places half star reviews, but this is one of those occasions where it really isn't bad enough to be only three stars, but doesn't justify having four stars...
