This was our first time coming here. It was Friday night, about 7ish. There was a 30-45 minute wait for 4 in a booth. From the outside it looks like it's an uppity kind of place (sorta), but on the inside it is such a laid back environment.
I am really bad with names, but great with faces. I wish I could remember my servers name. She is young, had long hair (pulled up of course), long nails, glasses, and she wears these rhinestones or diamonds like things around her eyes. Anyways, she was amazing! She was honest and open with us about anything we had questions about, and I love that. I ordered an unsweetened tea. I wasn't feeling it, but I was still going to drink it. So, when she came back to us to get our order, I told her when I get my next refill I preferred a Dr. Pepper not the tea. I still wanted to drink my tea though. She didn't let our drinks go empty. She remember my DP without me asking.
We ordered the stuffed jalapeños and queso app. (Strongly recommend you trying those) I am not 1 to eat whole jalapeños, and I asked her if they were whole or cut in half. She told me whole, and I decided to try them. I'm glad I did. My 5 year old grandson even ate half of one. The queso was banging. We added the ground beef. The salsa was too runny for my liking though.
My daughter and I ordered the combination plate, Tijuana. I got a tamale (it needs more spice to it), it was large and full of meat. So much food! Amazing! Their rice is really good. I don't eat beans, but I guess I'm so use to seeing every where I go put cheese on their beans. This place didn't. My daughter still said it was great. My husband got the Pollo a la plancha. He said it was great. My grandson got the nachos. Instead of bean and cheese we did beef. They were really good. (Yes, we tried them) it actually came with a lot for a kids plate too.
Over all, it was phenomenal service! The food was delicious! Everyone was so nice all the way from the bussers, to the servers, to the manager. The hostess didn't do a whole lot of interacting. They had more going on with each other. They weren't rude though.
If I was to take a star away it would only be because the restrooms needed major attention! With everything being so wonderful aside from that, I chose to give them...
Read moreFood was great (when my order was finally right) as usual but service was very sub par on this visit. We ordered 1 adult and 1 kids meal plus I ordered 2 enchiladas a la carte. I ordered them with flour tortillas because corn leaves an aftertaste to me I’m not fond of. Server did not check back on us for a while then when he finally did, we had to practically yell at him to stand still for a min to listen to the issue (he was grabbing our empty drinks to run off). He took the plate and said he would correct. Honestly at that point I didn’t even want the new ones because I had been snacking on chips and salsa so long I wasn’t feeling very hungry anymore. Oh well, he brought out the new ones and I ate about 1/2 of 1. I had ordered 2. Debated asking they be removed as by the time I got them I was no longer hungry and the rest of the table was finished eating. Did not say anything but when he brought the ticket, our drinks were not on there. I figured ok, it’s a wash at this point so we just gave him our card and left it at that. Check comes back to sign and he added the drinks (2 sweet teas)!! And he took our plates, saying nothing of the fact that mine was barely touched still. So now we had no proof of uneaten food or altered ticket as he took the original and reprinted it with the teas before charging our card. Just really seems wrong to me to charge a card a different amount then originally shown to the customer. And I specifically did not complain about my food to have it removed since the teas were not charged and it was maybe a $1-2 difference. Just overall a bad experience from what usually is a nice...
Read moreI took my wife here for her birthday lunch, we wanted to try a new place a little further away. First off, the atmosphere was very busy. It was a Saturday around 1300 so it was very bustling inside. Typical good restaurant atmosphere. The waitress we had (I wish I could remember her name) was fantastic, always spot on with drink refills like she was just watching from afar and as soon as I took the last drink she was right there, "can i get you more tea sir?". She was as sweet as can be. The time between ordering and getting our food was very short and let me tell you, I judge mexocan food restaurant's based on their sour cream chicken enchiladas and they were phenomenal! My wife got the brisket tacos, I'll be honest, I was expecting 3 little street tacos like every other place I've been to but I was very much mistaken. The plate arrived with 4 huge brisket tacos w/rice and charro beans, these things were loaded with brisket, she could only finish one and a half, so much food (they looked delicious). The price for 4 of us to eat (myself, wife, son, and a friend) was very reasonable, especially since I had a margaritas (house on the rocks, also delicious and huge) and my wife had 2 other drinks also. I personally highly recommend this place if you want some good Mexican food, in my opinion it's fantastic! We will absolutely be going back. The only gripe is the location, as it's right off the highway on the opposite side and the nearest crossover is a slight pain to maneuver through but definitely...
