The most conflicted 3 star rating I've ever written. I am--- or should I say, was, a regular here. Yesterday I showed up at around 7:05 PM noticing they're open till 8 on the Google Maps listing. They were closed and it looks like they were for some time already. They should change their hours to reflect that.
Showed up today. I open the door, step inside, and my front foot slips a bit. I catch my balance and look down. Wet floor at the entrance with no wet floor sign, which would've helped since my eyes weren't yet adjusted to the indoor lighting. Okay, whatever, I think.
I place my order. For here. Sit at the table. They approach me with styrofoam containers... is this for me? It was. My pet peeve is hot food served in styrofoam. They asked me if I wanted it plated, must've misheard me when I said 'for here' when ordering. Seeing as they were very busy I said "whatever's most convenient". It's not the end of the world to get your micro and macroplastics in once in awhile.
But wait, there's more. My chicken mole enchilada was fine, maybe a little extra salty, but overall good. Then I bit into my chicken quesadilla and the meat tasted suspiciously chewy. Like right on the border between undercooked and fine. If you don't see me updating my review within a week after the post date, it's safe to assume I didn't get food poisoning.
EDIT: 24+ hours later, no food poisoning! I reheated the leftovers in the oven so they should be in the clear now.
Two other people I've gone with have had issues with their food either being too salty or causing them upset stomach, now I'm potentially the third. EDIT: Not the third.
I really, really like the people that work here, they're super nice, the best Mexican food I've had in years (when it's done correctly), and so nice to look at as well, but I think this will be my last visit here. I'll just appreciate the good visits I've had up...

You order over a counter here and it's very difficult to see what's on the menu as all of the menus are just scattered across the counter with a bunch of people in the way. There is no menu on the wall, so this leads to HUGE inefficiency. They need to make their menus more accessible or they are going to have problems with lines because people don't know what to order when they make it to the cashier.
We ordered the chips and salsa. It arrived a few minutes after we ordered. The chips are those thick and really crunchy kind. The salsa is thin. The style reminds me a lot of what you would find in the Yucatan. We ordered the chicken enchiladas and the tacos al carbon (with chicken). Both were packed with a ton of flavor. I was pretty impressed honestly. The rice had a lot of flavor in it as well. Soft drinks here are served in cans. That's a bit annoying but I guess provides for more of an "authentic" experience. It doesn't look like they have alcohol.
There is limited seating in this restaurant. Fire Marshall capacity is only 42, so I expect it could be challenging to get a seat at times. My issue with this type of restaurant is that it costs as much as any other sit-down restaurant but you have to wait in line. If I have to wait in line, it...
Read moreI order food for my Christmas party for eight people. It was supposed to be chicken and beef fajitas. My husband went to pick up the order, and when I opened the containers, there was a very little meat, maybe enough for four people. I have ordered the same Menu last year and the portions were much bigger. I called the restaurant complaining and finally said, go ahead and send me more meat because I’m embarrassed to serve my guests such little portion. Another half a tray (The small tray for individual portions) of beef and chicken was sent with a driver and they wanted me to pay an extra $25 for that and one bag of chips, a small container of rice and a small container of beans. I had already paid $140 for the order. I was informed That the restaurant has changed owners, and it was under a completely different management. Now I understand why the quality of food is not the same as the original Casa Jacaranda I used to love here in Mansfield. I don’t usually write back reviews but I’m just letting y’all know That the quality of food and the portions are much smaller because is not the same owners. So sad because this used to be one of my favorite local Mexican restaurants in Mansfield. Completely...
