Catman Cafe — Restaurant in Mansfield

If there was a Zero star option, This place would get it. I've been here numerous times before - the service is garbage and the place is a dump, but I've continued giving them my business because they are conveniently a 3 minute walk from my apartment and the food is decent. There are good dive bars, but this place is a joke. I'll never go here again; tonight was the last straw. They don't even care though, because they have so many local drunken regulars which is basically what they thrive on.

The bartender completely overlooks you and gives you attitude if she doesn't know you past an occasional visit. She only caters to regulars, and made a half-witted attempt at apologizing, when I finally made an aggressive complaint that many other patrons witnessed, by making the excuse and the accusation that I only come late nights which "[she] hate[s]", but which is also untrue. I've arrived there 6 - 9 PM many times; I would not consider this to be "late night". I would have kindly accepted her pathetic apology if she hadn't of continued telling me "No you only come late nights", like I was wrong, like I don't know my own bar visit patterns. Late night, evenings, what does it matter? Customer service is customer service, it shouldn't matter. Last call is last call. Tonight was the ONLY exception because I walked in right before last call, but was completely sober, had had zero drinks thus far, and just wanted a sociable drink before I went home and went to sleep. She would not serve me because I came too late, but it wasn't legally last call yet. She just decided not to serve me right when I walked in.

Then when I complained that the service was bad, and made it known that she's always giving me looks and attitude and that it takes me often times 20+ minutes to get service, let alone the drink thereafter, the owner steps in and says "she's a nice girl what are you talking about". REALLY? C U Next Tuesday. The owner is a piece too.

If this bar didn't exist, I doubt this girl would make it anywhere else because she's the only bartender I've ever seen working there and her attitude and service is garbage. Being in sales and customer service for over 7 years myself, I can vouch my own statement. The owner doesn't care because he's got his local regulars, and that's enough for him. As I was walking out after my rant, saying I would never come back and that "you [they] don't care because I'm just one person, right?", the owner tells me to "get the ** out". Thanks buddy, that's where I was headed anyway.

If you're new to the area or just stopping by for the first time, I highly suggest avoiding this place if you are looking for at least one-quarter...

I did not have a good customer service experience here tonight with the blonde bartender. My boyfriend plays in the pool league and I went to the bar and asked for a drink and food, after I ordered I asked her if she wanted me to pay now and she said “if you want to” and just by her body language I should have known there was going to be an issue…she ran my card I tipped her and told her I will be over in the pool area with the pool players and she said okay. (When we first walked in the bar I saw her bringing food to a friend of ours in the pool table area) When I got back to my table I tasted my drink and noticed it was wrong so my boyfriend went back and asked her to fix it which she did. A while had passed and we were still waiting for our food so my boyfriend finally went back up to the bar and asked her about the food and she had it on the corner of the bar in a plastic bag as take out so by the time my boyfriend asked and got us the food from the corner of the bar it was already cold, really?? I told her I would be in the pool table area with the players, the same area our friend was in that she served his food to him at his table and served a bunch of people their food at the tables next to me after my incident. I don’t know if it’s because I am not from the area and we are not the ethnicity of her choice but she definitely did not treat me like a paying, valued customer. She should treat her locals and out of town customers the same, if anything she should want to make a good impression so I can go home and tell my friends and family about this great new place (DUH) but poor customer service, an error on my drink order, cold mozzarella sticks and cold fried raviolis is what I received tonight so needless to say I will not be back...

The bartender made me supremely angry the whole time with her disposition towards me after a drunken man forced me into another mans seat while he was at the bathroom. First, that man shouldn't have been that drunk, it was only 8 PM. Afterwards, any thing I asked of her was reluctantly offered with a serious attitude, which became very irritating. I showed my irritation, as is my right when the customer service is being irrational. I tried pulling a 180 and joking with her and her regulars but she turned and walked away after glaring at me with her legs crossed and arms folded while I went to buy a shot.

This was the tipping point for me, I had had enough. I wanted to grab my card and get out but she looked as unapproachable as she had been all night, so I slammed my empty bottle down, and walked away. Call it immature, I don't care. I work in customer service - I never would've pulled that little stunt on any of my customers, even if I didn't like them. Also, I'm not some ass clown that goes into bars and messes with the bartenders. I am a sociable drinker and like getting along with everyone. The little narcissistic glares she was giving me was TOO MUCH. She followed me into the next room and kicked me out in a really classy display of vulgar language in a room full of people I had just met.

She shouldn't have done that either. She should have her manager kick me out if my attitude is becoming toxic. What she did was unprofessional. I said nothing. I said nothing when I slammed the bottle, and said nothing when I respectfully left. Why she felt the need to bring it to the next level, screaming and cursing at me while I sat idle, only god knows. Whole situation made me very upset. 10 thumbs...
