Was at the Steak and Shake in Marion Ohio today. As a previous Steak and Shake employee from Columbus Ohio I have high standards when it comes to Steak and Shake absolutely love the food. But me and my family will no longer be coming to this particular location any longer. I ordered the chili mac Supreme my food came and when I asked for fork I was told we no longer have any Forks you have to use a spoon. When trying to consume a food that requires a fort but all you have is spoons that doesn't really work for me so I ended up using two plastic butter knives like Chopsticks in order to eat my chili mix Supreme. When I asked why they no longer have Forks they said oh we just haven't received our truck yet, they had run out of medium sized cups, they ran out of the ketchup cups and ketchup condiments at that point, they were out of napkins they were reserved only for drive-thru. So what would you like to do for the customers who are coming inside of your restaurant to eat. Since everything seems to be reserved only for drive-thru then why have this establishment even open. And by the time I had to leave I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and the bathroom was absolutely disgusting paper towels all over the floor soap falling and dripping off of the sink and the toilets I'd have a better luck trying to sit on a porta potty then poop or pee inside of this business. When I asked to speak to a manager to report that the bathroom look disgusting they told me that their manager is not here that they were at lunch I said okay that is fine I'll wait I waited for 30 minutes and was told that the manager is not returning and they didn't have a manager and everybody that was working there was all high school students and one adult. So I told the one adult there that the bathroom was disgusting and that whoever does their inventory needs to get it together. I don't like the kiosks and I personally feel that they should go back to using the waitresses and actually having a manager on staff while the business is actually open. I will probably never have Steak and Shake again after this unless it isn't another city I will never go to this particular location ever again...
Read moreWalked in and stood at the door with multiple employees staring at us but not helping us for 15 minutes until the “manager” (I’m guessing by the way he was dressed) grabbed our menus and sat us down without a single word. Sat there for another ten minutes making eye contact with multiple servers who were standing there talking instead of trying to take any orders. A girl finally came and took our order and when we got our food certain items were missing. When we asked about the missing food she said “oh we don’t have any more” when my boyfriend asked if we would get reimbursed since they “wouldn’t be done in time” she replied by saying oh they’re not that much, you have to pay for the whole meal. There was five of us with simple orders but she put the whole table on one check without asking. Not to mention another server at a table close to us got upset at a poor old man who asked for chili and she replied with an attitude stating they have no more and they are too busy to make any (they weren’t very busy at all) then walked away in a huff, not helping him or his wife who was in a wheelchair anymore. My cousin paid using her debit card since it was all on the same bill. She left a small tip considering the way we were treated (we usually tip way more than suggested and understand when things are out of the workers hands). When the lady gave her the receipt, she rudely called her out, asking her if she meant to leave that amount to which my cousin replied yes and we left. Honestly we shouldn’t have even tipped. They locked all of the customers in the lobby, because they were “busy” (there were four tables occupied and one other man at the kiosks) I was with a group of three other people. One kiosk printed a perfectly fine receipt, another printed blank, the other person didn’t get their receipt at all and I didn’t get the qr code to access the drink fountain. When we brought this to the staff’s attention we got an attitude and they brushed it off, they never gave us the missing codes.
We were told right off the bat that the wait was going to be at least an hour. Again, there were four tables occupied some of which had food already, and one other man waiting other than us. When we got there not even five minutes prior, there were no vehicles in sight for drive thru.
When we went to get drinks there were no straws so I went up to ask for a straw and the woman brought out a handful and aggressively slammed the straws on the counter and asked “anything else?!” Like I was inconveniencing her having her do her job. (I ended up taking the bundle of straws and stocking them myself)
The only worker that had a good attitude was the young man who brought the food out to customers and he handled everyone’s requests with well manners. The other workers seemed like they didn’t want to be there and took it out on the customers.
We used to enjoy coming to this steak n’ shake. Even when the employees had to spend time physically taking customers orders, (with an entire lobby full of people) the service used to be wonderful, and fast. Now I’m not sure I will ever...
