This review is not at all to put a damper on the business itself directly in any way. My only issue is customer service at the cash register. I've had friends and family pick up food from the location over the last 8 years and my personal experience is unappreciated and unnecessary rude attitude by the older woman with blondish hair and glasses. I feel like everytime I enter to place my order, I'm being rushed with dirty looks and an almost underlying snapping of the fingers type mentality. Mind you, this is even when the store has no customers. I thought maybe this would be more likely to happen when you are placing and order and holding up a line or something, but I literally take about 30 seconds to place my order every time. I do not appreciate as a Paying customer with my hard earned money to have to feel this way. I grew up up North Jersey and I'm very well aware of how stores operate in the city and the negative attitude in most places but in this location with the friendly clientele, this type of problem shouldn't exist. I think customers want to enter a place of business, especially serving food and have a great experience with friendly staff and good food. The food is always good. Meats are sliced perfectly, ingredients taste fresh and the bread is great. The bathroom and store seem very clean and everything is in place so this location does have a great old school Italian feel to the restaurant. I thought maybe the first time I was treated rude, maybe it was just a bad day, 2md time It definitely raised customer service concerns for me, 3rd time my order was wrong. I ordered an Italian sub with extra provolone, tomatoes, oil, salt and pepper. What I got was a sub roll with cheese and tomato. No meat. No oil... No nothing. Just bread and cheese with tomato... I called and the gentleman was very nice and gave me a credit. I returned about 6 days later when I was in the area to redeem my credit for my wife's sandwich. Yes she was the one that opened her sandwich and got a cheese and tomato sub. The reason this happened was because the woman taking the orders is usually too busy being rude and in a rush for who knows what reason that she wrote the order wrong. On Friday June 20th as I went in to grab my Italian sub that I was credited, I said Good Morning to the staff and woman. One guy said good morning and she looked at me as if I was a nuance. I repeated once again as she approached the counter, Good Morning. She looked straight at me with no reply and a rude stare and then said, What can I get you... I replied, Ohh ok .. as I was done with trying to spread a good vibe and message. I then told her my order was wrong and I was there to pick up the correct order. She took that order and the Italian sub was wrong once again. No extra provolone this time. At this point I have plenty of good local restaurants so I will not come back to this location but I really do hope the business considers this review and makes the proper changes as to tend to the poor attitude and poor customer service skills at the register. I know I'm not the only person having an issue with communication because when the woman grabbed my credit slip from the side of the register, there was a stack of return slips. If I were the older blonde haired lady with glasses at the register, I would definitely do research on customer service skills and stop making customers feel rushed and unappreciated and maybe write their orders down correctly and make sure the sandwich department gets the order right instead of practicing bad customer service skills like a grumpy face, rude stare, impatient register tactics and ignorance. People that work hard for their money and consume food by themselves or with family, Do Not want the type of behavior and vibes you put out. I'm not the type to write reviews but in this case it was a must because that was the 4th and final time I will be treated rude when I spend $60 or more everytime on sandwiches. I don't even care about the money. It's the principle. Treat...
Read moreI work construction in the area so I need to eat out from time to time . Been here several times with the same order. About half the time they get it right however, the last few times where not right. My last visit, I brought back my order since I was just fed up. There was hardly any meat on my Italian despite the price increase plus the order wasn't right. The girl at the register who I spoke with just wanted to argue with my concerns so I just left her with the sandwich and walked out. There is a lot of competition for lunch in the area and you would think that this place would try better to keep customers but they have the wrong...
Read moreWow... I have been a Very Happy, Satisfied & Loyal Pal Joey's Customer for many, many years now but today's sandwich that I have now dubbed "The Orbit Special" just blew me away. Thank-you to the Pal Joey's Team for many years of good service and great...
