Had to order Extra eel sauce with every order of sushi along with extra ginger and wasabi....I DID order extra on All 3 items because I didn't want to wait for a server to make an appearance when they felt like it. But still had to ask twice each and everytime. The unagi rolls are ok at best. We ordered 4 different things from the all you can eat menu and Not one of them looked Anything like the the photo in the menu. We asked about other items and if this is what we will be getting. The server Tina said no, it don't look like that picture. I in turn said, well that is false advertising. This place has pictures of other places food and then passes it off as their own food. Shouldn't the food that they make for the customers look like the food in the menu??? Just a thought. Also the website photo of their prices don't match what you actually pay for. Seems like Nothing at this place IS AS ADVERTISED. 04/13/21 came here again to give it another go. I tell you the service is Extremely Slow. I waited nearly 20mins for 2 Unagi rolls. And I'm right by the kitchen, my server was nowhere to be seen. Must have been on break even though she had customers. And like last time I was here, had to ask for extra sauce and ginger & Wasabi. And it wasn't extra just a tiny bit. And then at the end she gave me a Huge pile if ginger,..🙄 Its like your asking for her 1st born. I will Not be coming back here again, there just isn't any reason to come back. Its an all you can eat, true. But they ten to serve you as little as they can. I'll go some place else and pay a couple dollars more for better service... never even got a glass of water till I asked for it. And it comes with the straw already in the glass, maybe they are reusing the straws.... the glass looked to be either dirty or was washed with steel wool... just didn't look clean. And after seeing so many episodes of "Bar Rescue" I'm betting that the glass was dirty and they are reusing the straws. The staff of ladies here seemed to care less about the place, or you, or the job they are doing. Everything here seems to move in S L O W M O...
Read morePlaced online order 10/03/20 5:55pm-Party Tray A & Shrimp Tempura. I never write reviews and will start out by saying I have dined in here a few times and no issues other than slow service. After opening up the sushi at home, it was discoverd that there is hair sticking from the shrimp tempura roll. Called Kyoto Maple Grove and Hostess Peggy answered the phone. After spending 10 minutes with her attempting to locate my order, I questioned whether they do not practice safety precautions by wearing a hairnet. Her response, quote, "I don't know, I am the hostess in front, they do wear a hat." I then asked for the manager, she put the phone down and for 10 minutes, no exageration, I hear her conversing with someone just to get back on the phone to advise I will get a refund. I confirmed if this was Peggy and she said YES. I asked why is the manager not on the phone as I requested, she said they are too busy. I proceeded to ask, do you not wear hair nets, Peggy's response blew me away. Again, QUOTE, Peggy said, "IT IS NOT "UNCOMMON" TO FIND HAIR IN THE RESTAURANT!" I was so dissatisfied with her irresponsible response and lack of ownership from the manager and stores attitude, I gave up. I questioned when I would get my refund and it is now Monday 10/05/20 2:53pm and yet to get a refund. I go to McDonalds, where they whip up my food in minutes, wearing hairnets and gloves, and never once have found hair in my food-just saying. Due to the lack of accountability and customer service, I will never dine in or take out from Kyoto Maple Grove AGAIN! I ONLY GAVE 1 STAR CAUSE I HAD TO PUT SOMETHING. P.S. Please look at the pictures, this is no joke, shorter length hair sticking out from the shrimp tempura-likely a...
Read moreMy friend and I go to sushi biweekly as a girls night, normally we go to the Roseville Kyoto but since this one is closer we decided to try it.
They might have been having an off night but the sushi was not good. The texture of some of the crab was like dry mashed potatoes and tasteless. I ordered the spider roll which I normally order and it had the worst tasting/textured soft shell crab I've ever had. My favorite roll is the snow mountain and the roll had no taste other than the oil the tempura was made in. My friend explained her rolls like the sauce tasted like it had gone bad. Everything was just off and something just was not right with the taste of all the rolls we had.
The thing that bothered me the most was when the waiter took our drink order he switched our drinks, along with doing the same switch with our ice cream (which was minor), they brought things to our table were didn't even order, and then when he finally came back (which they were not busy!) to our table after a long while he asked us to eat more of the food since there was a decent amount of the rolls we weren't able to eat due to the way they tasted after telling him there was a taste issue and something was just not right with them he seemed confused. He still charged us an extra fee for the excess food.
I truly understand that people come and waste food so there is a good reason to charge extra but when your rolls taste the way they did tonight I wouldn't expect to be charged extra...
We won't be coming back to this location, but will continue to go to the Roseville Kyoto since we've been going there for a while and love the service and seems to have better tasting...
