So I came in and went to the sandwich shop next door, and instead of saying something like āhey, how are you today, just so you know weāre a little backed up so itāll take around 20mins to get your sandwiches today, let me know what youāre thinking for your order when youāre readyā this lady was like āuhh, so we have a lot of stuff going on right now, so I donāt know if you want to wait but sandwiches will take 20minsā she looked stressed and inhospitable like she was upset we even walked to that side of the building (they share the space with ufta and apparently are owned by the same person). So we move over to ufta which I had seen had a picture of an egg and cheese croissant, great, we can just get sandwiches there, we kind of wanted egg sandwiches anyway.
So I went to the other side to get sandwiches and donuts and it was just deplorable. Two very young girls behind the counter. The sandwiches were ice cold and soggy, I asked for a side of tater tots and they were barely cooked and room temp, and I paid $2 for literally 6 or 7 tots. Iām in the service industry so Iād like to think Iām pretty understandable when it comes to a lot of things service wise, but I just couldnāt understand this. We got donuts and Iām sure theyāll be fine if theyāre not stale, but the hot food was a MESS.
They remade everything, the tots STILL arenāt hot or crispy. Brought the sandwiches home and the bread still wasnāt crispy, Iām assuming the eggs are premade and it just tasted bad overall. I donāt know if itās the ingredients or just how they make it but these egg sandwiches are again, just bad. Thereās no other way to say it. I was too polite to go back and ask for a refund after they remade our sandwiches, but Iām actually upset spending $35 for this experience. Please save yourself the time and money and go to a Dunkinā Donuts. Their egg sandwiches arenāt great and would be 5x better than the ones we got here.
I donāt ever post reviews but I had to do it this time. š
EDIT: donuts were good, literally took a bite and threw out the disgusting...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was pretty excited when this place opened. I worked at a donut shop in High School and college, and have loved donuts my whole life. When it first opened, the donuts were large, fresh, well made, and tasty--something you'd expect at roughly $4 per donut. Back then, I would have given them 5 stars for the donuts, and 3 stars for the service. Things have changed, and not for the better.
We'd been going there about twice a month. As time has progressed, the donuts have been getting smaller and smaller, they are not as fresh, and they are not as well made (last time under done, and this time, slightly burned). I am guessing the decreased size (which has been fairly consistent recently) is a cost-saving measure. That's fine, but then don't charge $4 for a donut. Also, either they have hired less experienced and less attentive bakers, or the baker has begun to lose interest in quality. The last two times we've gone there, I've thought, "is this really better than just going to Cub?" The answer is "yes, but not much better." At more than twice the cost, and having to go to a separate place, we will probably stop going to Uffda unless they improve their quality, which is too bad because they had a great start.
One other thing. The staff are teenagers. Cool. I was a teenager when I worked at Winchell's donuts. But I wasn't high or inattentive and indifferent to the point of careless, like most of them seem to be at Uffda. Maybe I'm just an old crotchety guy and maybe this is as good as it gets now. Or maybe little thought is put into who they hire. Either way, not a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was looking for vegan donuts. Glam Doll used to be my go-to; however, they're clearly icing old stale donuts and serving them to customers, so I had to find another donut shop. Searching online, I discovered this place and noticed that it wasn't far from my house. I went there Sunday morning - vegan donuts are available on Wednesdays and Sundays. There were eight in the case, so I asked for all of them, then the nice person who helped me let me know that there were more vegan donuts in the back; I ended up purchasing a dozen. It was worth every penny. First, I spent less for my dozen than I had for fewer donuts I purchased at Glam doll the previous day. Second, the nice lady told me that they bake their donuts fresh daily. I second that statement because when I bit into my vegan glazed donut, it melted in my mouth. It was so delicious. When I brought them home to my family, the first thing my husband said after tasting his was, "That is what a donut should taste like." This is my new go-to location for vegan donuts. Donuts were excellent. Flavors were terrific. Staff was wonderful. I highly recommend this location for vegans or non-vegans. I have to say that there was a much wider selection of non-vegan donuts for my meat- and dairy- eating Minnesotans. You will not be...
