Lotus Maple Grove — Restaurant in Maple Grove

I have been going to this place for years! And never had a bad experience therefore I have rated it 2 stars. However, a group of friends and I went here at 5:30pm and it was busy. It was a 15-20 minute wait which was ok for a party of 8. We sat and ordered our appetizers, pho and drink. There is no doubt the lotus wings, crab cheese wontons and eggrolls were so good! However, they did not give us small plates to snack on the appetizers. I asked them to bring us some small plates after more appetizers came but they didn’t bring it. Our entrees & pho came as well but.. they didn’t bring any bean sprouts, basil, lime and soup spoons that are supposed to be with our dish. Some of my friends don’t know how to use chopsticks so I asked for two forks. Again, we asked three times for the forks. While the rest of us were eating, or waiting for more things like chili oil, the plates, etc. They didn’t even make rounds to fill our water. We asked twice. There was no apologies or willingness in the employees to be on top of things.

The pho wasn’t as flavorful as it usually is anymore. I haven’t been to this location in 2 years. I am unsure what happened. It was minimal meat in the pho versus what they usually had a couple years ago. My two friends ordered the surf and turf, because I raved about it and remembered it was a big bowl of pho and great meats. To our disappointment, it was a tiny beef rib the size of your index finger and the lobster was too over cooked, it was gummy.

I am unsure what happened during this time but if they are busy or not. I was super disappointed. And especially if they are charging a 18% gratuity on parties of 5 or more. Not sure if parties, they lack service because they are guaranteed a tip. The service was super unacceptable and I felt embarrassed towards my friends for even suggesting this place. Never...

Went there because my brother said it had good pho.

The service was terrible. They did sit us right away, but we waited for about 30 mins to get served anything. There was even a long delay in bringing us water while the waitress walked past us multiple times already.

We finally placed our order after our long wait. Surprise, surprise, we ended up waiting an hour and a half to get our food. Had to ask for water refills many times, but wasn't given any. My sister ordered one of the Vietnamese desserts but never got it - the waitress claimed she had told someone to "make it." My brother never got the lemonade he ordered. They got my sisters two orders wrong. We also ordered some dishes to go, first they brought out the wrong takeout order. Then brought the "correct order," but still had one of them incorrectly made. The waitress started avoiding us and refused to serve us water after we told her she got our orders wrong multiple times after that. We ended up staying there for at least 3 hours just because we had to wait so long to just put our order in and the food took forever to get to our table, but had to send several of them back because they weren't our orders or they got our orders wrong.

The bill came up to be about $90 - we literally had to walk up to the waitress and tell her to cross out multiple things because we never received them. The pho was good, and the food was okay, nothing to die for. Or...

Their food was good but their service needs improvement. My friend and I decided to try this place out on Sunday. Our server was terrible. He didn’t introduce himself nor greet us after we sat down. We arrive around 12:30pm and got seated at a table right away. After 10 minutes, our server comes and gives us water and asked us what we wanted to eat. We put in our order and WAITED FOR 40 MINUTES! Honestly, I’m not really mad about that part. I’m mad that our server didn’t stop by our table once after he took our order. A different server came to give me my take out food. We asked her to check on our food. After 10 minutes, they finally bring our food out. After we were almost done eating, we decided to ask for our check since they took forever for our food. It was difficult to get our server’s attention because he didn’t stop by our side of the room. To be completely honest, it didn’t even look like he was suppose to be our server because we were on the opposite side! As soon as he was going to head to the kitchen, I finally said, “Excuse me” and he turned around. I told him to give us our check, which he did.
