We were looking for a new Indian restaurant to try and happened upon Tandoor on their very first night in business!
They have a little different take on the Indian dining experience and we found it refreshing to try something new. The vibe is much more high-tech than traditional eastern and carries through in their offering of wifi and a downloadable app for online orders. The music playing was also different and consisted of muzak-like versions of popular american songs from the past. I personally would have preferred Indian music—even if it was a more modern selection—but that’s a minor detail.
For our meal we ordered their veggie samosas, vegetable curry and chai tea. While we were waiting for our food they brought us a complementary basket containing two types of Papadam (lentil wafers) with mint and tamarind dipping sauces. Both kinds were very tasty and also a very nice touch since it’s one of the things that we always order anyway. The sauces themselves were both thick and flavorful and not watered down as many restaurants tend to do to save money.
I can’t speak to the Samosas since I don’t eat gluten but my wife said that they were good although about average. The rice for the curry was very good and different than what most other restaurants serve. The menu has it listed as “basmati rice cooked in a blend of Saffron, ghee, bay leaves, raisins, cloves & cardamon.” It was very good and worked well with the vegetable curry. The curry itself was also very good with lots of potato, cauliflower, carrots, peas, onions and beans in a delicious sauce. Lastly, the chai contained a well-balanced assortment of spices as well as sugar. We normally don’t add sugar though so this was a bit more like a desert tea. We were told that in the future they would be leaving out the sugar and allowing people to add it if desired.
To round out our already enjoyable experience the owner and each member of the wait staff were very friendly and attentive. Anise was our main go to—which was nice since we’ve known him from other restaurants in town—but all...
Read moreMy first time at this resturant for girl dinner. Place is well maintained, clean, and hygenic. Full points on interiors too. Well plated tables. Menu items are very limited as compared to other Regulare indian restaurants and to be honest any Indian foodie will find it little different. Food we ordered was Potato Chop and gobhi Manchurian first. Potatoe chop is nothing but a deep fried mashed potatoes. Dont expect bengali style kolkatta street chop. i did that mistake and my face fell in my lap when I saw that 2 poor small chops on that big plate followed by just 1 slice of cucumber 😂🙏 The side of chutney(sauces) where diluted in water. Indian sauces are never ever runny. So bummed to see green water on my plate. What is this? Even I dont serve my kids plates that way at home. Tasted nothing. Complained about it. He went and replaced it with bigger and much spicer version. That was bit better but they made it spicy using big pieces of dried res chillies. Oh my God.. i took two bites and in every bite i was getting atleast an inch long piece of chili. Anyways we wrapped up with main entree in which also we were disappointed. Finally owner said it in one line..” this resturant is not for typical indian food.” .. I was like whatever .. Americans eat becausw they come in with 0 expectations and dontknow better. I think they will like the bland and mild taste. Everyone else is...

Just providing some direct feedback before I submit a review on social media. I believe we should all be given a chance to explain.

We came to have a nice family meal Friday 12th April, the server was amazing and did several checks on us.
We were provided water bottles each without being advised we’d be paying $1 - I know not much but it’s about being honest.
We placed our meal order which arrived in a timely manner and again great service, but the Dal makhani seemed under cooked.
Upon receiving the bill which is attached we were surprised to see most of the items were charged at a higher price then shown on your menu and online menu!
It’s ok we paid the bill as it’s not our server’s responsibility in making sure your menu prices reflect the same as one is charged.
3 water bottle - $3 Onion pakora - $8 charged $9 Gobi Manchurian - $14 charged $15 Dal Makhani - $14 charged $15 Paneer Makhani - $17 Charged $18 X 3 garlic naan - $3.50 each Charged $4 ($1.50 extra)
We are glad we do not live a life where we need to ensure we account for every dollar and unsure what we would have done if we were presented with a bill which we were expecting to pay $89.60 plus tax but instead presented a bill for...
