Avenue Pub — Restaurant in Maplewood

Had high hopes for this place but it was very disappointing, waited over an hour for any sight of food after we ordered, we asked several wait staff and we were repeatedly told " it should be out next" which it wasn't. We sat there and watched 3 other tables come in after us, get served and leave. We even asked a waiter to bring us a bowl of chips for the kids just to keep them happy, and that took 10 minutes. When the food arrived, they brought appetizers and entrees together. Pizza was undercooked and dry, calamari was equally undercooked, chicken was inedible. The waiter said he would make it up with free dessert, never happened. A manager/ owner came by to apologize and said he would take care of the bill, knocked 10% off a $160 bill. To be honest, it seemed more like we were annoying the staff when we asked about our order.I know it's a new place but there's no excuse for waiting that long in a restaurant that was not crowded , and even less off an excuse for food that was not prepared properly. Maybe it'll get better, maybe not, but I won't be back and I do not recommend this place to anyone unless you are going to drink at the bar and watch sports. Too bad, this town could use a good place to eat and hang in a family setting, but...

Horrible customer service. I met some friends for drinks. We ordered LIT that came out extremely sour. The manager took one drink away from the table, then asked if we like to send them all back. At this point, we thought he was professional and were very pleased with his customer service. Then we stood corrected. He came back to the table, after we already reordered multiple top shelf drinks, and tried to argue with us! He interrupted our conversation and outing, to tell us we didn’t “stir the drinks”. I let him know that I had, even though I didn’t need to. (He was talking to a bartender! Lol) He still cut me off and said “Well. They weren’t stirred”. Very unnecessary, especially after the drinks were removed and replaced with even more expensive drinks. We brushed him off and continued to order drinks, tipped him VERY generously, and he continued to be passive aggressive and unprofessional! We will not be returning. That was a one and done experience. They def need to hire some staff that knows how to...

so, I have been wanting to try Avenue Pub since they opened, I was just waiting for someone to go with me. So my niece and I tried it out. The bartender, Elizabeth, was very unwelcoming and acted as if we didn’t belong there. When we asked what’s her specialty or her favorite drink she just suggested whatever we ordered and acted very nonchalant. Overall she was very passive aggressive and not welcoming. I always try out new bars and bars that have been opened for a while, but this one was a very disappointing experience due to her attitude.
