Old Father Inn — Restaurant in Marana

I had heard this was a kind of a dive bar but using a Living Social coupon I figured getting $16 worth of food for $8 was a good deal and we'd be fine. OMG - honestly the worst food and service EVER. The waitress, although a sweet girl, was so slow and she would just disappear. I think we could have just walked out without paying and she wouldn't have noticed but I did wait...and wait... and wait. We ordered nachos, quesadilla and a cup of clam chowder. All three items were gross and we ate maybe a bite or two of each before deciding we'd rather just leave. The nachos were covered in this gross cheese spread (not cheddar cheese like menu said). When I asked for the salsa, cream cheese etc. that were to be on there the waitress had to bring them out later like they don't even know how to make nachos?

This place is never going to last - all I could think of as I sat there...and waited and waited...was how do they manage to pay rent here with this place being so dead? Maybe it's busier at night but whatever you do - DO...

This is a decades-old watering hole that has stood the test of time for a multitude of generations. In fact, this was the only full service bar for miles around. The old timers will tell you stories of how this place was holding ish down since way before that little farm town up the interstate named 'Marana' even knew the meaning of the term annexation. The more things change, the more they stay the same and nothing fits that moniker better than the OFI. With a full service restaurant up in front, the space nicely flows into the mid and aft section of the building where it opens up and crates a spacious area fit for a multitude of adult recreational activities. The entire place is staffed with consummate professionals who create a neighborhood atmosphere that welcomes old and new patrons see if they've been coming for generations...... And some of these regulars have been!

I've been trying to find ways to increase my rating, but I really can't. We had a group of 25+ go here for an event. The management was given advance notice of our event, and it was as if they didn't care at all. The only saving grace was our server, who also apparently hosted karaoke the night before, who was rushing around trying to take care of us all. He truly did everything humanly possible to try and take care of our needs. Food came out under cooked, soggy, and haphazard. The rest of the staff had no concern for the hole our server was in, and it was obvious they didn't care he needed help. As someone who specializes in customer service, I'd give our server four stars (would have been 5 except for my fork). The rest of the staff is in...
