Blu Bistro — Restaurant in Marathon

Be prepared for loud, like really, really loud. I love Greek food, so I had high hopes for this restaurant. The hummus is amazing (best part of our meal). It tasted fresh. We had a platter (easily shared between the two of us). The beef skewer had a lot of fat and gristle and came too rare for my liking. The chicken was ok (2nd skewer). The Greek salad was excellent. I ordered a lemonade, my dining partners water never came and he ended up sharing my lemonade. Watch your bill. We had a gratuity added (which we didn't see). We left a tip on top of that. With the lack of getting what we ordered, the fact that part of our meal was not as hoped and the fact that we couldn't hear each other talk, I'd be reluctant to go back. The good: * large portions fresh ingredients party atmosphere if that is. what you're looking for.

What a wonderful hidden secret! We were not expecting much out this hotel restaurant off the beaten path by Sombrero Beach. We were wowed!!!! Option to sit poolside with live music or inside where they serve the hotel breakfast and right next to the kitchen. We chose inside because it was a cool night. The chef was right there cooking and answering questions from different tables about the wonderful food we were eating. The restaurant has all the Greek favorites, but also something for everyone…including the best batter fried fish my husband ever had, and he’s from Wisconsin. We also had a Gyro and a Greek salad with chicken. Everything was delicious and served beautifully. Plenty of food and all reasonably priced. One of the best meals we have had in the 10 years we’ve been coming to the Keys. The chef was also kind enough to put together a sampling of desserts. You can not go wrong with any of them, though the Milfia was our favorite. We can’t wait...

Another disappointing dining experience at Blue Bistro. We are locals who frequently have dinner at Blue Bistro. We have really enjoyed it for the past several years & recommended it to lots of people. The last few times haven’t been up to par but tonight was the breaking point causing me to write this review. We ordered our calamari appetizer & it was the worst we have ever had. It was cold (our server was busy training a new employee, trying to eat his dinner & serve people drinks while our calamari was sitting by the cash register. I finally asked if that was our food (my husband was annoyed) so he gave it to us but it was very cold. It was half the size it normally is & there was a few mystery black fried balls that I’m not sure what they were. At that point we wouldn't eat it & didn't order dinner. We paid for our drinks & the calamari and left. Very...
