This park is wonderful. It's big and has everything but a swimming pool. There's basket ball courts, tennis courts, a workout station, baseball field, soccer fields, skate park, stage amplitheater, bathrooms, pavilion, I'm certain that there must be kids toys as well but I have not seen them. I haven't actually been through the whole park yet. The community makes great use of it. Having said that, It's rarely crowded. It's a wonderful place with plenty of parking. I would say it's very wheel chair friendly, quite a flat park. The entrance can sneak up on you as there is a large power pole on one side and a bus stop booth on the other. But it's pretty much right across the road from Overseas large bright sign. Also use caution getting back onto the overseas highway because visibility is limited do to the bus stop booth and the power pole. The City of Marathon dose an excellent job maintaining the park. It's definitely worth...
Read moreVery nice park. However. What stood out the most to me is the staff. First off, there are not many parks that I have been to that have staff on location. That being said, they are friendly and accommodating. They have different things to use at the facility and nearly all of them have gone out of their way to say hello. I have not been around long but I have been here alot for the short amount of time I've been in marathon. There is a woman who works here that i can only describe as something else. She is truly special. The guy who seems to run the operation, though I've delt with him much less, I've overheard a couple conversations with the younger staff and he seems to be a great influence and mentor. Recommend anyone visiting to stop by and enjoy the...
Read morePeaceful, Clean, and Great for All Ages! Marathon Community Park is a gem in the Keys! It’s super clean, well-maintained, and has something for everyone—basketball and tennis courts, a skate park, baseball fields, and even a shaded playground for kids. There’s a walking path that’s perfect for a light stroll or jog, and plenty of picnic tables and benches to just relax and enjoy the breeze.
I loved how quiet and peaceful it felt, even with kids playing nearby. Bathrooms were surprisingly clean (which is rare!), and there’s ample parking. It’s also pet-friendly, which is a huge bonus.
Whether you’re a local or just visiting, it’s a great spot to take a break from the touristy stuff and get a little fresh air and sunshine. Definitely...
