On our journey from Miami to Key West, hunger struck, so we decided to make a quick stop at La Isla Taco Grill, a vibrant Mexican food truck we spotted along the way. The food truck had an inviting vibe, serving a variety of authentic Mexican delicacies such as tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. After browsing the menu, we opted for a delicious spread, including Shrimp Tacos, Chicken Tacos, Fish Tacos, Chips and Guacamole, and a Chicken Quesadilla. The food truck also featured a nice seating area, perfect for a quick break. We placed our order and waited around 15-20 minutes, which gave us time to soak in the relaxed atmosphere. When the food arrived, we started with the Chips and Guacamole, which were fresh, crunchy, and paired perfectly with the creamy and flavorful guacamole. Next, we moved on to the tacos. The Shrimp Tacos and Fish Tacos were the stars of the meal--perfectly cooked, seasoned well, and packed with flavor. The Chicken Tacos were also good, with tender, juicy chicken and just the right balance of toppings. The Chicken Quesadilla was another hit, with the tortilla toasted to perfection and filled with delicious, well-seasoned chicken and melted cheese. Overall, La Isla Taco Grill was a fantastic stop for us. The food was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying, making it a fulfilling meal that re-energized us for the rest of our trip.

This place was referred to us when we stopped at a local gas station as we were driving through the Florida Keys. This is a food truck located within what seems like a trailer park. Wild chickens run free hopping onto cars and acting in what appears to be a societal structure similar to how raptors behave in the Jurassic Park movies - very intelligent and predatory. The food truck/stand is across from a large patch of palm trees that house the wild chickens. We were greeted by what seemed like a 10/11 year old hispanic child that was well trained. She was certainly more on the ball that many workers you find at fast food chains these days. She was precise and clear despite her accent. Food was prepared quickly and it was delicious. We had the burritos. Both the chicken and the beef were good. Though you won't find a bargain here. Just for the 3 burritos, we paid the equivalent of $55.08 Canadian. Given the location, I would expect the prices to be much lower. However, the experience was worth it as my daughters were entertained by the raptor-like chickens as we enjoyed out burritos on the shaded, but open patio. P.S. make sure to take lots of napkins as the burritos can be very juicy.

Absolutely LOVED our experience at La Isla Taco in Marathon! We had a big family group of 15 and they handled us like pros. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and the food? Incredible. We originally went for lunch and enjoyed it so much we came back two days later! The menu has something for everyone — from classic tacos and burritos to more unique options like the birria quesadilla (a must-try). The fish and shrimp tacos were fresh and flavorful, and the pork belly taco was a fan favorite at our table. They also have rice bowls, tostadas, and loaded nachos if you’re looking for something hearty. We even had a few vegetarians in our group who found plenty of delicious options. Everything was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and served fast. The casual outdoor vibe is perfect for relaxing after a day on the water. Also, shout out to their house-made salsas — they take everything up a notch. If you’re in the Keys and craving Mexican food with legit flavor, La Isla Taco is your spot. Great food, good prices, and awesome people. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!
