A lovely staff welcomes you to a comfortable and well appointed restaurant. Fried food dominates the buffet and while there is fresh lettuce to make a salad, there aren’t any standard ingredients like tomatoes, celery, pecans, craisins, bacon, shredded cheese and croutons aren’t available. Similarly the wonton soup was without wontons, duck sauce for the egg rolls had to be requested, and a nominal selection of rolls constituted “sushi”. The cold peel and eat shrimp were so small as to be difficult to shell, and while cocktail sauce struck me as something that couldn’t be messed up, the Grand Buffet proved me wrong. Then there was the cottage cheese, another something you’d not expect to taste different, but it was kind of sour and off. The fish fried in cornmeal was decent, as were the coated fries, but there was no fried rice or white rice and the imitation crab salad somehow managed to taste fishier than real crab under the too-sweet dressing. Everything was hot and fresh, the buffets well maintained, but I had to wonder if management takes note of what customers don’t eat. I think not or the cocktail sauce and shrimp would be far better. Nothing overly wrong, but save for the friendly and capable staff, not a whole lot...

Once I went for lunch and witnessed a roach crawling in the fried rice. Told a waitress who smashed it with her hand and did not remove the food. Didn't come back for over a year. I was told by others they were now under new moms so I convinced my kids let's give it another try. 2nd time in after giving them another chance I saw a roach crawling at the sushi bar, uncovered bread sitting at tables they don't normally use, staff snapping peas at the front counter. No gloves, no visible handwashing, taking money. I can't deal! Where is all the...
Read moreThis is definitely a 4-star buffet restaurant ... more likely 4½-star. The Staff are all very courteous and all smiles, very pleasant as though every customer is a long time friend and regular customer. It's very clean, and the food prep & set-up is quite organized. (Being allergic to shellfish I was extremely impressed by the efforts to insure that serving utensils were provided for each separate dish on the buffet line ... didn't have to worry about juice from the shrimp dishes getting into my grilled chicken or sweet & sour pork.) I highly recommend the Grand Buffet Restaurant for anyone hungry for Asian cuisine with a moderate budget ... or any budget for...
