Today I was very disappointed in the Home Depot rental department. I rented a deck sander for 4hrs. I asked about the sandpaper and the young man pointed me to these sheets of sandpaper with an adhesive backing that were approximately 4 x12 inches and they each cost 7.97ea! Ok, I get it everything is expensive these days. I buy 8 sheets and asked if I needed anything else. He said no and I head home. I get home and set everything up. I go to put the sandpaper on and the adhesive doesnât stick. I call back Home Depot rentals and they said they forgot to SELL me the $10 pad that goes with the sand paper. I drive the 15 miles back to HD and the young man gives me the pad( no charge , thankfully ). I asked another gentleman is this all that is needed because I donât believe the sandpaper would stick to that either! He said yes and I head home! I get back put the pad on the machine (still not positive the sandpaper would stick) go to turn it on and it doesnât work. My husband checks it out and rules out everything it could be on our end. My husband said the issue was in the sanderâs electrical cord. Needless to say my husband took it back and they plugged it in at HD and it tripped there as well! He was issued a full refund.
There is a sign that says bring back the equipment clean. Well this machine was not! It was like someone pushed it through grass which made adhering anything to it difficult. I initially spent time trying to clean it off, but gave up.Please donât put up a sign if you donât follow through and check the machine when itâs returned. Someone should also make sure it works before sending it out with a customer. I frequent HD quite a bit and for convenience sake I will probably continue to do so. Iâm just disappointed in the service that we received today. It was a waste of my project time...
Read moreI was disappointed to find out that Home Depot does NOT match prices from Amazon.. I know hard to believe right? I dont know if they are wanting to go out of business or if they are just stuck in the dark ages and don't realize that there is a HUGE competitor out there that they should be trying everything they can do to take business from. Sadly, this was not the case. So I left the store and made my purchase on Amazon. Hey, I tried, but Home Depot's lack of business knowledge sent me on my merry way. I should have called first, but also common sense would tell you that they would price match. Unfortunately, that's something that Home Depot apparently doesn't have. But hey, the blue Home improvement store price matches Amazon. At least we know they'll be sticking around.
Oh, and it just wouldn't be a full honest review if I didn't mention how their store was a complete mess. Stuff was in the way everywhere you walked. I actually had to reach behind a fork truck to get the item that I wasn't going to buy, off the shelf. And walking into the store there was so much junk in the way that the "customer service" lady was blocking the entrance as she loaded what I can only guess was returns from other unhappy customers, onto a cart.
There are so many places online and local to buy home improvement products, that I would have to say you're much better off with than going to this Orange one. There's no telling what other poor decisions they're making. They probably put sweet pickles on a Hamburger.
Oh and just to educate you Home Depot, Amazon is a Huge competitor. In 2019 they had 280.52...
   Read moreWow, Home Depot, wow.
Always a haven of kids too young to work a better paying job career, and those who are should be retired but are unable to for whatever poor financial decisions, one could always obtain at least DECENT customer service and products at a DECENT price.
I never expected anything more.
Today, though, was a day where this low bar was not even met in anyway.
Customer service was not even of the grunt, nod or "yeah?" variety; instead it was more of the grumpy avoidance type.
The working near children age were still there, including some people of an age I felt I needed to ask them if they needed assistance..
I understand the open warehouse concept of big box stores like Home Depot, but for them to function, they should not resemble a hoarder's mansion. In this sense, I found this Home Depot to be cluttered, disorganized and unclean.
When my wife and I inquired regarding disposals, the gentleman in appliances loudly groaned and rolled his eyes to inform us no, Home Depot does not install them and offered us no further assistance before turning back to whatever he was doing on the store computer.
I guess we were wrong as paying customers to go into a business and expect you know, customer service, or in the very least their wares organized to where we can find them.
Alas, we, with our silly dreams and expectations left without purchase, to pursue our needs online, only hoping we did not disturb the employees too much with our...
