I typically don't write a bad review on a newer restaurant, but our experience here was terrible and what caused me to write this review was the attitude of the staff and manager.
We arrived and they were very busy. We were greeted by the manger who said the downstairs we could put our names in for a table downstairs or first come first serve upstairs.
We headed upstairs and it was busy, so we ordered a drink from the bartender at the bar. It took them about 15 minutes to acknowledge our existence and then seemed agitated that we were ordering drinks....kind of his job. He looked very overwhelmed. We ordered our drinks and we noticed he had to read the menu to see the ingredients for the drinks. Well, he left some out and does not know portioning. The drinks were so terrible, we had to wait for another bartender and asked him to make us new ones. We hardly ever send stuff back, but for $18 per drink and how terrible they were, we had to. It was straight up lime juice in the one drink that was supposed to be coconut based.
A couch with table opened up so we went there in the hopes to order food. The table was full of food and it took a while for it to be bussed. The waitress walked by us several times and never acknowledged us. We grabbed her and she said she would be back and never came back. The high top next to us opened up so we thought we would have better luck there. The waitress finally came over and said we had to put our names in for a table. We explained what the manager said and she went to go check. Now we have been here 2 hours and only able to get one drink and no food. She came back about 15 min. later and said we needed to put our names in. At this point the place was cleared out. We went downstairs to leave and head to Tomatoes to get some food.
On the way out we saw the manager who instructed us on the first come first serve and explained our situation and experience. We aren't complainers, but wanted to bring it to her attention so they could improve or explain. I would have given this place another try in the future, but the manager didn't seem to care and when I turned my back she made a face at me and rolled her eyes and began to laugh with the hostess. This was caught by several people in our group. We just left and will never return because of this manager and the waitress upstairs and the terrible bartender. We were excited about this addition to Margate, but when staff mistreats customers, that is a hard no for us returning ever again. I am fine with a new restaurant working out the bugs, but there is no excuse for how we were treated.
My recommendation is to stick with the businesses that respect their customers and try to do the...
Read moreI'm absolutely blown away by this incredible spot! From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. The atmosphere is electric, with a vibe that's perfect for catching up with friends or making new ones. But what really steals the show here are the drinks - oh, the drinks! They're truly exceptional. I mean, I've tried my fair share of beers and artisanal cocktails around town, but the ones they're serving up here are on a whole different level.
The attention to detail is staggering. Every sip is a masterclass in flavor and technique. I went for the seasonal spritz, which was expertly crafted with just the right balance of sweet and tangy. And the presentation? Absolutely stunning. I almost didn't want to disturb the perfectly arranged garnishes and ice cubes, they looked so beautiful. But of course, I had to take a sip, and boy, was it worth it. The flavors just danced on my palate, leaving me wanting more, more, MORE.
And don't even get me started on the service. The staff here are some of the friendliest, most knowledgeable people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, especially Brian and Adam. They're passionate about what they do, and it shows in every interaction. They took the time to explain the inspiration behind each drink, and made spot-on recommendations based on my tastes.
All in all, I'm thoroughly impressed by this amazing spot. Whether you're a foodie, a cocktail connoisseur, or just someone looking for a great night out, this place is an absolute must-visit. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. The drinks are, without a doubt, super good - but it's the whole package that really makes this place shine. So grab a seat, order a round, and get ready for an...
Read moreI almost don't know where to start. A group of 8 of us went. We were sat upstairs, where there was a child's birthday party?! As a mother I would not have my child's birth party at a tequila bar. Also I can't believe that the place even allowed a child's party to take place, it's clearly no place for children. The kids were all over the place as the parents were at the bar. There was a dj play loud music. We couldn't even speak to each other without screaming. Our server couldn't hear us and was also screaming to place and take orders. It took forever to get our drinks and forever to get our food. As we would sit and wounder where the heck our server went and if she was even coming back. One person in our party ask for the gluten free option of something on the menu (it was listed as an option) she was given a hard time by the server about it. Another person in our party ask for a drink that was also listed mocktail, she was told no by the server that she couldn't have it as a mocktail....even though it was clearly listed as one on the menu. Most of the drinks we ordered were not liked. We asked for side plates and extra napkins and never got them. As we then waited 20mins for the server to come over so we could close out. We finally get our check and are clearly counting money to pay, a woman (unknown if it was a manager) comes over to tell us that they have another party coming in and that we basically needed to go. If it didn't take so long for ever damn thing, if children weren't running around in the way of staff,if it wasn't so loud. We would have been out 45mins (if not sooner) definitely will not...
