UPDATE 20250613: Added a picture of the apple streusel from the Pie Bar. This time it was served chilled. It was another pleasant visit. As a side note, while the environment is intimate and conducive to hostesses and patrons being on a first name basis, I think it is totally unnecessary for a hostess to ask one for a first name for their order, especially if one has worked up to being a regular. I don't think the traffic volume warrants such. And I'm not hearing first names at any other time or with other patrons, and I certainly wasn't asked this the first two times. (But then it has been different days and different hostesses at this point.) -- It was a fine coffee break and writing session at the Marietta Pie Bar this afternoon. On this second visit, I sat inside and acquainted myself with a slice of their apple streusel pie. The slice of pie was ho-hum, due its soggy nature and heating. It bared the consistency of home bake, to which I had expected pie a cut above homemade; or rather, homemade worthy of the price point(s) and for the business to exist. What I did like about the apple streusel, though, was the structure. The stacked slices of apples that made up filling inspired me to venture beyond my own Dutch apple pie. All in all, I did lose myself in the slice to have missed taking a picture of it. It was good in that regard. In addition to the fresh brew of coffee, though I remember the cup was slightly bigger last time. The hostess (assumed to be the manager of this location) is friendly, and the server who took my order was gracious though a little too eager. It appeared I was the first customer, before a number of people walked in to take their orders to go. Except for this older mother-daughter couple, but by then I was leaving.

Really sweet people, and even late in the afternoon on Pi day, they had a bunch of whole pies available without requiring advanced ordering. The coconut pie was amazing -- the crust seems to be a mix of a flaky and crunchy crust with coconut. The filling is creamy and perfect! Also tried the Pecan Pie, Midnight Snack and Key Lime pies. They were all good but not quite as good. The pecan and Midnight Snack were both a tad too sweet and while the key lime filling was great, we kind of wished they had gone non-traditional and used their own special crust rather than the graham cracker crust. Haven't tried any of their savory pies but will be back! Parking is rough in the area, especially with construction going on right now, but it's a wonderful place to get your pie fix!!

Wow! I had a meeting in Atlanta and took a detour to find a spot away from all the traffic fun so I could learn about Byzantine Fault Tolerances - that meant coffee, but wait, coffee and pie??? Twist my arm. I found a convenient parking lot nearby and went inside. The two people in the store were amazing and clearly had a serious passion and respect for their pies. It was ridiculously hard to choose - but another customer in front of me said she went all the time and recommended the apple pie. So that's what I went for - and it was so good it almost made me fall off my stool - and the coffee was great too. Give them a try if you're in the area, delicious and great people!

It was a fine coffee break and writing session at the Marietta Pie Bar this afternoon.

I love this charming little pie shop! I love looking for places that actually make authentic from scratch pie and this always tastes like it. The people are always so sweet (which goes along with the dessert shop), super helpful and patient. I love that this shop tries to keep their staff permanently and I always hope they do well. I love to get pies from here for the holidays, but learned the hard way, make sure to order days to a week ahead as they close during the rush for orders only. An amazing shop run by amazing people serving amazing pie. Make sure to come give them a try!

Update 2024/9/1: I haven't been eating pie much during the summer and last time I was here was 5 months ago. Sam excitedly greeted me by name soon as I walked in, remembering me all the way from being last order for pickup before Christmas. He's so nice, and again, the staff are all super sweet. Also tried the brown sugar chess pie warmed up, and it just melts and tastes amazing. Still my...
