Wei Sichuan is located outside of Marietta square. The parking lot is small and has parking around the building. The restaurant has a big waiting area with a bar. There are a few booths and plenty of tables, even to accommodate large parties. Calming and jolly describes their atmosphere.
We were there on a Friday evening. When you walk into the restaurant you are greeted and sat promptly. They have a separate server taking your drink order immediately until your server can attend you.
There were a lot of questions we had about their menu that the server was able to answer. He was able to describe taste and heat, which allowed us to narrow down our choices. We decided to order dumplings as our appetizer, spicy pork in garlic sauce and curry seafood stone pot as our entrees, and fried mochi rice cakes as dessert.
(A6) Dumplings were hot and fresh! They also brought out ponzu sauce.
(K1) Spicy pork in garlic sauce was good. This dish has a good balance of protein and garnishes. The wood ear mushrooms were delicious. I’d recommend this if you want savory with more sour. I did ask for the chili oil on the side so I could adjust the heat.
(H13) Curry Seafood has a delicate profile. It’s not like a Thai curry, it’s light with a hint of sweet. It complements the seafood as it tends to be lighter. We omitted tofu with more squid as we are not huge fans of tofu. This unique dish is filling, and it comes in a hot pot!
(T2) Fried mochi rice cake is different, their breading is light and crisp, which I love for fried food, and the brown sugar sauce is light. This dessert is a light way to end your meal.
Wei Sichuan is different from other Chinese restaurants. Their combinations with flavors make them unique and offer a new experience to Chinese food that we know. I can’t wait to go back and...
Read moreCame in today (Wednesday Aug 6, 2025 around 12:30pm) for lunch. Place is nicely laid out with large booths with ample room, better than most set ups.
We were seated immediately though they were moderately busy. Eclectic blend of clientele which usually shows it’s a popular place. Our server greeted us quickly and we ordered right away.
I was with a friend and she ordered the “triple delight “ which was beef, shrimp and chicken with some mixed vegetables such as broccoli and scallops, the lunch menu orders come with white rice and egg drop or hot and sour soup. Her entree had good flavor, I especially liked the shrimp and beef, the chicken was large and kind of gummy but the flavor was good.
I ordered the kung pao chicken. I really liked the flavor (very spicy with lots of red hot peppers but they were big enough to pick around if you don’t like too much pepper). Like I said the flavor was delicious and it was definitely kung pao, and I don’t have a complaint but just a warning it’s very starchy and you will walk away not being able to kiss someone for a while, the kung pao sauce is very thick and highly seasoned, but if you like kung pao you’ll enjoy this.
The egg drop soup and vegetable spring rolls are very good. For a lunch menu you get quite a large portion of food so you definitely won’t starve, but be prepared to be ready for a nap when you get back to work.
Service was fast and professional, though the server didn’t speak English very well but she tried and she was very nice and polite and patient.
It’s a cool place to eat inside, and they also have nice tables out front in the shade.
I would recommend and will...
Read moreNot really one to post a review, but my experience here was beyond terrible. The first time I came here it was a very pleasant experience and the food was fantastic. The second time around the food however still good, the service was absolutely horrid. Me and a few friends came here for dinner, and the food came before our drinks, our food and drinks also came before our appetizers. At this point in the meal I really wasn’t upset I understand things happen in a restaurant and that everyone isn’t perfect. The food I will say was still good. Our waitress only really checked on us when we ordered our food and to give us the check. She rushed us to order food when we ordered drinks which was kind of weird, but again it’s nothing I would make a big deal about. So when she gave us our check we asked for it to be single checks since we were all paying for ourselves, which is pretty standard at a restaurant. She then proceeded to argue with us and try to get it on the same check which was really weird, and she then had to ask us what we all had to eat and was very rude about it. Me and a friend paid with cash and were planning on leaving a tip on the table before we left, but when she came back she was absolutely rude and hassled us saying, “tip is not included you know” among a few other things. Obviously I'm aware of that, I have been to plenty of restaurants. We were all pretty blown away needless to say. Maybe opt for takeout from this place rather than dine in, because if the food was anything like the service, this place surely would not be...
