I live right across the street from this location and I will be driving a little farther from now on to get my fix of the Zax-bae’s. First of all, their health score is 87 B which is reason enough to eat elsewhere. You have to miss a lot of violations to get that low! Nevertheless, I didn’t know until I was already at the drive thru window to get my food. It took 17 minutes to get through the drive thru line. When I was ordering, asking for a “half sweet, half unsweet tea” really threw the poor girl taking my order for a loop. She asked for clarification of what I meant 3 times. And when I made it to the window she thought I wanted half lemonade, half sweet tea. Nothing against the poor girl, it may have been her first time ever receiving that type of drink order; but surely there was someone working on the crew that knew what I was asking for and could have helped her out if they had the customer’s satisfaction top of mind and had good teamwork. I clarified again, and she went to remake it. When she came back to pass it to me, there was no ice in the drink. I just took it, because this drink had already been enough of an ordeal to make. I also asked for an extra Zax sauce with my meal at the ordering box. Girl at the window confirmed the extra Zax sauce. I was charged 25 cents for the Zax sauce. But was never given the extra Zax sauce. I don’t eat Zaxby’s fries without Zax sauce to dip them in, so there went half my meal. Zaxby’s, if you’re going to charge people for extra sauces, you really need to make sure you give them out accordingly. Oh well 🤷🏼♀️ all I can do is just not eat there again. I had a coupon to the other Smyrna location, I guess I should have just gone there instead. I know I will...
Read moreI spent over $17 for this visit in drive-thru. Wings and Things, boneless, was what I ordered. The boneless wings weren’t fresh. They were too hard to chew. My fries were overcooked. The tenders were smaller than an average cut tender from Zaxby’s. I parked and went inside and addressed the issue with a team member. She took the plate and addressed it with the kitchen crew and specifically asked the cook to pick out bigger tenders because the ones on the plate were indeed small. And, she asked for him to cook fresh fries. The young man who was working in the kitchen, took the plate, opened it and laughed about it after mumbling to the young man working in drive-thru concerning the food. The kitchen guy took the fries from the plate and replaced them with fresh fries but left the tenders on the plate and passed it back through from the kitchen to the expediter to serve me the food. Yet, still laughing amongst each other, handed me the food and told me to have a good night. I asked for the manager on duty and addressed the issue with him. He asked if I wanted to him to get them to remake the whole meal. I declined on the offer because I didn’t feel as if I should have had to ask for it to be done right a second time. This was indeed a horrible experience. I really felt as if my intelligence was insulted. I visit this location, often, but this is not the closest one to home. Not willing to go back at the late hours. The unprofessional customer service should be...
Read moreI have been to this location a few times before with no problems, but it has been a few years. My recent visit was not so great and I will not be returning. Employees are rude, and too busy talking loudly and laughing and having a good time to properly take care of a customer. Even when the person taking my order could actually hear me over the noise, she kept getting things wrong. Due to the frustration of just trying to order two of the things we wanted, we stopped trying to order anything else. We actually would have bought 2-3 items more. Apparently this location would just rather frustrate its customers and leave money on the table. The only reason this isn't a 1-star review, is because the food actually somehow came out fine.
Also, the Zaxby's customer survey is garbage. The website is janky, and all you get is a free item with a purchase of another item. Most places just give you a free thing, or enter you into a drawing for a big prize. I've seen some places do both. Zaxby's should do more. Especially because if you say you got a certain item, and say you will answer questions about it, they give you a focus group style survey, with lots of annoying extra questions. A free item with purchase of an item is cheap, and unsatisfactory. I wouldn't even have done the survey if I didn't want to make sure they knew how bad this...
