Another Update: Thank you for the sincere apology. The staff members are much better with the pickup process. Food remains delicious and consistent. Thank you, management.
Update: I gave the establishment the benefit of the doubt with the “new” pickup procedures. I went in to pick up my order instead of my husband being that he had a horrible experience last time(see bottom half of my review below)! Guess what? I was asked my name and handed my food just as usual. Either the full staff isn’t trained on your new procedures, choose not to follow them, or the new procedures were just a bogus cover up for an excuse of why my husband had went through so much trouble to pickup our food. Again, he was discriminated against and I do not appreciate it! This proved to me that my intuition and his was correct. We will not be back which is sad because we ate here weekly!
I have been coming to this establishment faithfully and today will be my last time ever spending money with them! I always order online through chow now and during pickup, they always ask for my name which I provide and am able to pickup with no issue. Well, today my husband goes to pickup the order and the middle eastern lady at the front gave him a hard time picking up the order. After he gave my name, she asks for phone number then the confirmation number. Why in the hell do you need all of that to pickup the order. We don’t like to jump to conclusions but the black young lady in the front has never given us this issue yet this lady did! My husband is a black male with locs and it was too obvious that the reasoning for the multiple form of verification was due to his race. I will be complaining to the BBB and calling in to report discrimination towards Pirates Boil. I really love the food from them but it’s never worth feeling like this! I wish he would’ve gotten her name but either way, an employee that works for the company represents the company so I’ll pass on spending my money with you guys ever again!! Such a...
Read moreSave your money. The service was horrible. Went on a Friday night expecting to have to wait...the place was empty. Staff seemed to be waiting around with nothing to do. We were immediately seated and took a very long time to be asked for our drink order, so long so the hostess came by to check on us. When I ordered my cocktail (tanqueray and tonic), the waitress did not know what that was. After asking a team member, she told me they did not have that gin although I could clearly see it at the bar. She asked me if I wanted to go look at the bar for myself. After getting up and walking to the bar and finding the gin, she let me know she was only 18 and didn't know anything about alcohol. I had to put the order in with another team member. Fair enough, but why not admit that from the beginning instead of coming back and forth about it. I would have been glad to write it down or show her a picture of the alcohol. Our waitress passed by our table several times before coming back to ask us for refills or take our order. She never smiled. I wanted to leave before we had received our food. The food was fine, except I'd say the food is very overpriced. $26 for a 2 clusters (one crab) seems steep. The one thing I couldn't understand is the music. I couldn't understand why they were playing music with uncensored lyrics at loud levels. Imagine if you went with your parents and kids and Cardi B is talking about eating a$$ and N word this...all while this place is empty and needing business...Does not seem smart from a business standpoint. This place is clearly falsifying reviews. I don't see this place being...
Read moreUPDATE: 3 Aug 2025 I went back on my word and came a third time to order my same Gold Broker with the pirate's secret seasoning with the medium spice level. I had a craving for a boil bag...that's why I returned, lol. Nonetheless, food was good and well-seasoned. Because of this, I officially deem this spot as a hit-or-miss. I guess it depends on who's back there concocting the seasoning.
I came twice in a row on two separate days. My first time dining inside, food was delectable! My seafood boil bag hit the spot and satisfied my craving. Seasoning was perfection.
I met Adam, the bartender. He took such good care of me and made me a yummy Hennessy Margarita. I enjoyed my experience so much that I came back the very next day to order the exact same seafood boil bag. This time around, Adam concocted some type of coconut drink. The drink was just okay. It had a thick, syrupy consistency to it that I wasn't a fan of.
Sadly, the taste of my boil bag wasn't the same as the day before. The seasoning wasn't explosive like 24 hours prior. I told Adam about this, and he said it's probably because the cooks "switched sides." So the cook who had prepared my boil bag yesterday was probably preparing all the fried meals that day instead of the boil bags -- and vice versa with the other cook.
Consistency is what I look for when I go to various restaurants. If a restaurant can't maintain its consistency and becomes a "hit-or-miss" type of establishment, I no longer frequent the place. So because of this, I won't be returning. The photos and videos that you see attached to my review are from my first...
