Daddy's City Diner — Restaurant in Marina

They don’t seem to know what they’re doing from an operations standpoint. They had 1 server to 12 tables, each table with multiple people seated. The server was great and overworking, but that’s because she had no other option. The atmosphere is odd - fake click-together flooring with tables placed randomly in the center of the room, and uninviting lighting.

When I walked in initially, I waited for a hostess to great me, but instead waited until the busy server finally yelled “you can sit anywhere.” There was no sign up front to welcome me in or tell me I can seat myself.

They’re currently open only Wednesdays and Thursdays, which explains not wanting to employee enough people to properly run the place.

The food wasn’t outstanding, but I needed something good, and it was good. This isn’t a place I’ll save in Google maps as a “must come back” Hopefully they can...

There are a lot of diners in the Bay Area and each bring their own to the table… 😀. Daddy’s City Diner is specifically for Breakfast/Brunch/Lunch. I don’t usually give out 5 stars but it’s well deserved. If you want a great breakfast and are starting out your day, skip Denny’s and other chain places (which in my opinion taste like garbage compared to here), and have your breakfast at Daddy’s City Diner. I ordered biscuit and gravy with hash browns. It was all ala carté and came out to around $10!!! The economy is in bad shape yet this humble diner owned and operated by its fine Philipino staff, offer so much for so little. Everything is handmade from scratch, the food was delicious and hearty. Went here for breakfast the other day. Ordered just waffle. There was a hair in my waffle. The waitress did not apologize. The owners seemed to be negligent in the ways of decent customer service. The owners did not apologize to me either. The one bite of waffle was good but the service here is terrible. Moreso with the owners. Don't eat here unless you enjoy being disrespected. If you do decided to eat here make sure you inspect your food because I made that mistake once and will not be coming here again. Thanks for the side of pubes with my one bite of waffle.
