I’d award Dametra Fresh Mediterranean zero stars if I could. This is by far, the absolute worst mediterranean food I’ve ever eaten. Pardon my rant, but I feel it is my duty to forewarn you in hopes that I can save one person from this terrible food. I’ll start with the food and work my way down.
I ordered a basic dish, Gyros (not a plate, a pita wrap). You’re supposed to be able to pick it up and eat it. As you can see in the picture, that was pretty much impossible. They basically turned my gyro sandwich into a gyro bowl. The meat was overcooked, and cold. The lettuce definitely came from a bag. Veggies didn’t seem fresh at all, and the pita bread was very stale. The rice was probably one of the only decent things about the dish. The sauce portions were definitely not adequate for the amount of food you get. All in all, very stale, with little effort put into the presentation of the food. Also, food was very difficult to eat as it was improperly assembled.
Now on to the bag. They put my order in a to-go bag; each plate was boxed individually, but the sauces were in small plastic sauce cups with snap on lids and were placed haphazardly in the bag. One of the lids came off and got shatta all over the place. Why in the world would you not put all of the sauces inside a stable box? At the very least, throw them on top of all the boxes, not at the very bottom where they’re most likely to succumb a terrible demise. This is curbside pick-up 101 and the employees here definitely skipped that class.
This is not the first time I’ve eaten at this location (in Marina), but it will absolutely be my last. My previous experiences have been nothing to write home about; the service and food were mediocre at best. However, this trip was the tipping point for me. Do yourself a favor and stay far away...
Read moreI went today for first time and ordered a plate. It comes with rice, your choice of meat, which for me qas falafel vegetarian, & 2 sides (mine were hummus Mama's Dolma). I just did not like it! The star is for the rice but everything else wasn't good. The falafel vegetarian are garbanzo beans nuggets. There have no flavor whatsoever and are extremely dry. I asked to add Tahiti on top of them and I never tasted it. Then the hummus, it's just not like wow. It wasn't good for my taste. The pitta bread was like a kids size pancake, not flavor. Finally, the mama's dolma; very bad. I disliked it a lot! I am not exaggerating but this food has been one of the driest and flavoless i have ever eaten before, especially, the dryness. For this meal I paid $11.91. I can say, that my 2nd star is for the place is very clean, the service is fast and there's a bar looking like. Employees were friendly. So, there is nothing against the place as a whole but...
Read moreI can't believe that it took me so long to try this place! I absolutely LOVE it! I believe they have a total of three locations; Marina, Del Monte Shopping center and Carmel. I ordered the vegetarian wrap. It consisted of falafel, lettuce, feta cheese and choice of sauces, which I chose tahini, taziki and a drizzle of their fig balsamic dressing all wrapped in lavash bread or you can choose pita. The menu seemed mostly ala cart and I really loved the fact that you can pick and choose what you wanted for your order. I did not get a chance to see their wine list, but when you walk in their are tons of great wines spread all over the restaurant. The restaurant itself is pretty small so I imagine they mostly serve take out. The wine looked like they had just got a rather large shipment, maybe why it looks so cluttered? Nope, it looks like this...
