Stop here on our way to/from Milwaukee every 6 weeks or so. Almost an automatic stop. At first we came just for the amazing Culvers ice cream/custard (always check the flavor of the day! Some of them are fantastic!), and soon realized the food is great as well. Burgers are so good it's more comparable to a 'real' restaurant than to a fast food place; onion rings and cheese curds are great too :-) it's almost not right to call it a fast food place... it's kind of like a causal restaurant but without a waitress. But they do bring your food out to you--it's pretty clear that they really are making it food right when you order it. That makes it a bit slower than a McDonald's etc, but it's definitely worth the extra few minutes! We've stopped here so many times that my experiences with the staff have run all the way from the best--polite, helpful, patient (even when they're busy), and friendly...And I've also had the distracted, hurried, abrupt/not caring attitude. On average my family and I have all had far more good experiences with the staff than bad. If there's a problem or misunderstanding they always make sure you get what you want (I got fries instead of onion rings they let us keep the fries and gave us hot onion rings too). On the downside, if you order a gluten free bun and you want it hot on your burger or sandwich (rather than straight out of the plastic package) make sure you ask them to either heat it up or put it on the grill! I think they hand it to you still in the package to eliminate the chance of the gluten free bun getting crumbs of a regular bun...so it's understandable but eating the bun cold isn't a great way to eat a burger. The cleanliness is the only part of the place that really does need improvement. I've only been to one or two Culvers with perfectly clean restrooms. It's not generally smelly or anything, but it's often got pieces of paper towel or toilet paper etc on the floor. Overall, definitely worth a visit for food...
Read moreStoped on a road trip because I feel safe ordering a butterburger with gluten free bun, lemon ice, french fry’s and root beer. The Gluten free bun comes in its own sealed bag with the patty separately so you can build it yourself and the fry’s are in their own fryer. Todays visit Brody S was a sweet heart and helpful. Don’t get me wrong the service was good however the manager girl and the small elderly lady in a black sweatshirt were very rude when I asked for the BBQ that was not given to me even though it was on the receipt. As well as when I realized the burger I ordered had cheese & not burger like I requested so I asked for one with out cheeses. The elderly lady snarky asked if I ordered it that was when I said I orders a “burger meal” not a “cheese burger” she shook her head and saying you obviously didn’t order that” and the manager glared at me as she asked the cook for a patty. When things like this happen I try to be very sweet and kind asking very politely. All I wanted was a separate plain patty, keep in mind I had a gluten free bun so they did not even need to make an...
Read moreFalse advertisement and rude management. They messed up on my order and didn't honor an advertisement. I went in to discuss this with them, and instead of hearing my concerns and offering an appology they then started coming up with excuses about how they had restrictions that were not included on the advertisement email and got defensive over the mistakes on the order. Apparently, because my godson didn't come up to the counter with me, I didn't qualify for the Easter kids meal? (If they had just said something at the time I placed the order I would have fetched him.) And that was the reasoning I was given after he threw other excuses at me that I disproved, but got more and more irritated with me so I ended up walking away from the argument because it was exactly that. An argument when it should have been a discussion. As a company, the food has always been good, but I will be avoiding this location. I don't care to support unsympathetic management when it comes to my food - what if the mistake was about cross contamination...
