Where do I start? Location: This great restaurant is located right on HWY 41 in Marinette. Its’ somewhat of a low key exterior may cause you to drive right by in favor of the larger, flashier, national (global) chains but that would be a big mistake. Parking: Access to and parking is sufficient. As one that tends to protect my vehicle from door dings, I was especially appreciative of the wider parking stalls. Semi’s may still need to park out back though. Dining area: Oh, this is a typical, small town feel diner. Quaint including the seasonal decor. We were promptly greeted with a friendly, almost familiar face. A relative perhaps? No, just a friendly employee. Smaller booths, smaller tables, but a table was available for parties larger than 4. Or slide a couple tables together. Make it work. You will be glad you did. Food: it was 11:00 am when we arrived and we were not sure if we wanted breakfast or lunch. We just knew we were hungry. The menu selection actually quite varied but we quickly focused in on breakfast. I was torn between a skillet and the Country fried steak. While I was exceptionally pleased with my choice, I wish I had ordered both...one to go. I will just have to make an excuse to return. My pictures of the food were taken after I added pepper to my Country fried steak. Likewise, my friend already added sour cream and pepper to her Skillet. I really wish I had ordered one to go. Everyone loved their choice. My bride ordered the steak and eggs. Try the hash browns. They were perfect. With onions. Staff: Family? Friend? Neighbor? The staff was friendly and personable. Our server stated she is often referred to as the sassy one. I found her to be fun and refreshing. I would be remiss if I did not include the one hiccup in my experience. My toast was not ready when the food came out and I had to remind our server of this. In her defense, when she delivered the food, she waited to pour more coffee as I was taking pictures and I explained I post reviews. Our discussion, and a phone call, got her sidetracked. But I am sooo glad I got the toast. It was thick and freshly made. Toasted to perfection and so very tasty. I was stuffed. Price: We paid just over $40 for 4 people, some coffee and soda. Reasonable cost and exceptional compared to the quality of the food. I apologize for the poor pictures. I took some of the menu but left off a supplemental page that was meant for weekday only items I believe. Skip the chains. Why eat okay food when you can have great? And the picture with the two employees and the cash register...the one in back was our server. Five stars to Hometown!!!

This place was hopping on a Sunday morning. It's pretty cozy, just about exactly what you might expect from seeing it from the outside or honestly just the sign. They've got a fair number of options, with lots of weekday specials. There was a $8.95 buffet ($4.95 for kids) but my husband and I opted for the skillets. I didn't take a picture until I had already eaten half of mine, so it was a generous amount of food. The tater tots were absolutely perfect. The bread was good, and I the ratios of veggies/potatoes/eggs/gravy were just right. We've been meaning to come here for breakfast since we moved to town 4 months ago, and it's definitely going to be on our short list of places to go back to.

I read that this place was 4.5 stars so just had to go! WOW! The 1st waitress could barely take a drink order! The 2nd one made up for that, somewhat! The 1st waitress did manage to bring over the first 2 drinks but the 3 home made ROOTBEERS? 15 Minutes! The 3 waters..23 minutes..only after reminding her! With orders taken, we waited for our meals... and waited... yes and waited, yes 35 minutes! With only 7 tables at the time this was crazy. It was as they wanted us to leave! Oh and the home made ROOTBEER that they just keep bringing around? Again had to ask! Well the food arrived and no one dared complain as it would be another 35 minutes to fix anything! One plate had tater tots instead of frys and they were over cooked! Wait? How do you over cook TATER-TOTS! More attention was paid to the youngest ones half/half Lemonade/Tea drink (which by the way is made with Half Tea and Half lemonade) was way off. They have no senior menu so my parents had to have that double sized plate of food! They have 1 dish that is oven baked, half ah chicked! Look if you are into deep fried food and food you can take home with you for the dog(this was said by another customer) don't mind bad service... then this is the place for you. But wait...Dad did like his chicken wrap as did my son. Mom would have loved a small salad but had to toss a lot of it because it was too much and I tend to enjoy my BLT with somewhat hot (or even warm) BACON! My wife had a omelette with no cheese and the 2nd waitress asked her to please check to make sure there was no cheese! I refer to the 1st and 2nd Waitress as such due to the fact that they never did an introduction. Mind you, I am a heavy tipper but not at this meal. 2.0 stars is being kind...maybe they need 1 more Waitress, another cook and a...

Cute & clean little place. The food was actually mostly pretty good, except for the cheese curds (in Wisconsin!), Which were overcooked & the cheese had leaked out.. we were served nearly empty breading.

The real issue was service. We were seated for 15 minutes before our server came to the table to take our order. She was a bit curt, basically to the point of rudeness.

I ordered a pattymelt, which is served on marble rye (and the primary reason I ordered that sandwich), and comes with fries or tater tots. I asked for it to be upgraded to onion rings, which are about $1 more on the menu. She repeated my order back to me, but did not write it down. My husband ordered a bacon cheeseburger with tater tots. We both ordered iced teas to drink.

The server brought the food out & hubby's plate was fine. I got some sort of sliced beef sandwich with onions and mushrooms (which I hate with a passion) on a big toasted hoagie roll. I hate to waste food, so hubby and I just switched plates. The food was pretty good. The server never came to our table to check on us & our drinks were empty about half way through eating.

When we got our check, it showed that we ordered an extra side of onion rings for $4.50, and not the upgraded difference in price for the substitution. The cashier said they do not offer substitutions and do charge the full price for the onion rings, even though they're were no fries or tater tots included on my plate. We mentioned getting the wrong food, which she replied, "oh, sorry about that". Also, the check charged us for 2 sodas instead of the teas we ordered, which was an extra 40 cents, which she did correct.

I'd never go back here due to the truly unacceptable service... the food isn't bad... Still won't go...
