First thing we noticed when entering was a strange unpleasant smell. Didn’t smell at all like you’d expect a hamburger place to smell.

We were a group of 7 at 11am on a Tuesday, and there were no other customers. All of their seating is two-person booths except for one table with four chairs, and a c-shaped booth with two tiny tables smashed together so tight that you could only enter on one side and scoot all the way around. Since the 7 of us couldn’t all fit at the booth, I asked if I could move a chair over from the table. They said sorry, no. I asked why not, and they said “It’s our only table with chairs, and if someone else comes in we might need it.”

Mind you, there were no other customers in the restaurant. Apparently they prioritize potential future customers over customers who are actually there. Not a great business practice. So, our group had to split up, which was frustrating since we were with out of state family and wanted the time together.

The burger was terrible. The meat was either very gamey, or starting to spoil. The bun was so stale it crumbled. There was a large glob of unmelted, un-spread butter on the meat. There were no fries, salads, or other sides on the menu, only plain chips.

The bathroom was fairly clean but everything was so old and rusty and chipping that it just made my skin crawl. And they had one of those rolling cloth towels that you pull down, instead of paper towels or a dryer. So unsanitary.

Definitely will not be back.

Oh, and no one sat at the table with chairs the whole time...

Very small and cute retro restaurant. Their menu is very limited, but nice choices. Don't expect fancy. This is a good place for stepping back in time. Still old spinning stools up to the snack bar or very small booths. They cook things in a fireplace grill with charcoal when you walk in. We had the cheeseburgers with the works and a chocolate milkshake. They are small burgers, but tasty and we watched her grill them in front of us. The menu is small, but if you love a milkshake or an ice cream sundae or pie dessert, you will be happy. Prices are so good. We ate inside and were out within a half hour. I have driven by this place many times, yet it never caught my eye as a place I would want to go to get a meal. Then a friend recommended us to go and it was worth it. Don't miss this place. It's better than the franchise restaurants for sure. It is like stepping back in time which is always fun. All staff were kind. Food was tasty. We will return for sure. I have attached photos. Update: I returned here in December 2024. What a packed place at 1 pm! I managed to get a seat at the counter. It was standing room only for people wanting to get in. Lots of take out orders going. The workers here never stop moving. It's a gold mine. It was worth the wait for my burger and I have to commend the whole crew of workers who seem to have it all dialed in with who does what job, etc. with friendliness. Nostalgic place. Great tasty burger, especially with the chunk of butter they can put in your burger...

This place is a throwback. Nostalgia galore on the inside with plenty of historical articles about the town and the building, which is a very simple 1 story white building with a big sign that includes "Bar-B-Q". We went in and were immediately greeted by friendly people, both employees and other guests. We were surprised by there being no menu's other than ones posted on the wall or the big sign in the front. The menu was very basic and included burgers, hot dogs, brats, and other sandwiches. No fries or anything but they did have chips. No Bar-B-Q to be found which was disappointing to say the least. Even so, the atmosphere convinced us to stay and try what they did have. It was a GREAT decision. I had a double cheeseburger and hot dog which they cook on a fire grill. The hot dog was all beef and full of flavor. The condiments were perfectly portioned and complimented the flavor of the hot dog. The bun was toasted but not burned. The cheeseburger was delicious and all I said about the hot dog goes for the burger. So why 4 stars instead of 5? Because they got my mouth all ready for some BBQ and there wasn't any on the menu!!!! Might as well have left a swallow of OJ left in the container. Kudos to anyone who reads this and gets the reference. So in summary, this place has a wonderful atmoshere with quick friendly service and food to match. We will stop in again when passing through, just not...

The food is soooooo delicious! Every last drip drop bit. The works are catsup, onion, pickle, & mustard. The only thing that had us confused was, the order board says "Hamburger. $2.30 DBL $4.30" So we thought DBL meant it was a 2 patty Hamburger. It really means two single burgers. So if you want 2 burgers, you're saving .30 cents buying a "DBL". I have not been there in probably about 10 years if not more. It's just as awesome as I remember. They still have old style booths, tables, chairs & stools at the counter. The old time style clocks, jukebox & other decor is nice. Reminds me of my youth.

My wife and I loved everything about this place. The atmosphere of a 1940s diner was everywhere. While we were looking for something Bar-B-Q, the staff kindly educated us on the fact that their Bar-B-Q was a method of cooking the food and not a sauce. Oh, and they've not served french fries since they opened over 80 years ago. We sat at the counter to get a better view of the deliciousness they make. I ordered a double cheeseburger, my wife a single. I'm not typically a fan of brown mustard but the ketchup, mustard, pickles and onion was awesome. The bakery-style bun was the best. Prices very fair.
