I'll be honest honest ice cream is great. Service. Not so great. Look. I'm a very polite person, I served in the Navy after high school. I have worked with all walks of life. Anyways, Every single time I have come here, I'm treated like a 3rd class person. Im brown skin and to start off my first experience here, I waited 30 minutes for coffee. (They forgot)the owner managed to make things okay and was kind. 2nd experience. I. Asked for no nuts, but was given nuts..again not a big deal but it's just my fiancee has braces and they are hard for her to chew. Regardless, even when making our order I'm treated like I'm being rushed. Or as if what I ask for is too much...normal things. 3rd experience, when taking my order I'm asked to repeat myself as if I'm not speaking correctly or something.... Not only did I notice it but the people behind us noticed it as well. That was July 3rd 2023. Just saying..I brushed off the first 2, but today on 3th of July, you come to enjoy some ice cream and you are embarrassed by the cashier who again forgot to bring me my coffee. When my fiancee tried to ask for assistance, the window was constantly closed in her face before she could get 2 words out of her mouth. We both are brown skin and just felt like this was a spoiler for us. Won't be returning. Truly...
Read moreI went to True North to be with my students. I had arrived early by driving so I could bring back some treats for staff in the building. When I arrived I was greeted by the owner who asked if I was with a group. I replied yes. I said I am a special education teacher. I also said I wasn’t sure where they were at since I drove. He said “of course you don’t know…you are special ed.” My jaw must have hit the ground. I didn’t respond or laugh and ordered. After the kids were done ordering, I took my order to the car. As I was getting in the car I overheard the owner talking to another man about me. I decided to go up to talk to him. He at first denied that he was talking about me and then said yes he was talking and said he hoped that I didn’t take it the wrong way. The whole time he kept getting in my face in my personal space, I had to keep backing up. He said he commended me for saying something but continued to get in my face and said that he knows SPECIAL NEEDS and has SPECIAL NEEDS visit the store. The whole interaction was super uncomfortable and a horrible experience. I will not be visiting the store again. People are people first and they are Students WITH disabilities not “Special Ed” or...
