When we walked in (our first time ever), it was typical. It was the classic American pizza place on the inside & out. Nothing outstanding, nothing unusual, nothing unexpected. We approached the counter after having been greeted when we walked in. Scanned the menu and placed our order. Being able to see the kitchen, I was a little concerned. I saw some Blodgett ovens (very common in pizza restaurants) and wondered if the pizza we just ordered would actually be from a brick oven. But next to them was the brick oven, and they did fire it up to bake our pizzas. Considering that they seemingly fired the oven for our order, I was pleasantly surprised. The pizza was good, very good. Toppings, including cheese, were evenly distributed edge to edge and were neither too heavy nor too light. The sauce was not as robust as I liked, but it was okay. It all came together on a nice, thin crust that was a little crisp. Now I bet the crust would have been a little crispier and therefore perfect had we been there when they were busy and the brick oven was operating continuously and was hot verse them turning it on for us.
Bottom line, it was very good and we will return. Be sure to check out their specials...

s, after all, the reviews appeared pretty promising. Having grown up overseas, with travel to Italy, I have had the opportunity in acquiring the true taste of Italian fired pizza, unfortunately, Angelos didn't rate too high for originality or authenticity in comparison, but did fare for a modern day westernized pizzeria. In ordering, I chose a pick your own
ingredient pizza which included olive oil, double hamburger, feta, mozzarella & mushroom. Size was well proportioned, as we're the ingredients, but it did lack tastes relevant to what one would expect in a Fired pizza. The hamburger was bland, the mushrooms did appeal to the taste buds slightly, but the pizza lacked any familiarity in taste of being Fire Ovened. (True fire ovened provides a distinct taste throughout the pizza). Though the pizza was generous in portion and of average value, there just wasn't anything spectacular or indifferent in comparison to other pizzeria chains or... The pizza was great, you can taste a difference in the cheese compared to a lot of places. The sauce was great, a little sweet like they might use a bit of cherry tomatoes in it. The dough was soft, crust was blackened from the wood oven. The garlic knots were pretty banging, again dough was great. In my opinion could have used a little bit more garlic clove instead of the butter, but again the sauce was amazing. The staff was friendly, I had wanted slices since I was passing through but it took them under 10 minutes to make a pie from scratch. The guy at the counter friendly, the lady working behind him the same. Highly recommend...
