I live in Gaithersburg and love the Bruster's there.. this was my first time in the Frederick location, and I will not be back.
First, I went over lunch and there was literally no one else there.. I should have taken that as a bad sign and left. Sadly, I decided to order.
Second, I ordered a brownie fudge sundae.. and it was $7.41.. now at this point I was thinking "well everything I've had at Bruster's has been amazing, so maybe it's worth it.." Sadly, I was wrong.
Third, it took 10 mins for the guy inside to make my order... when (like I said earlier) I WAS THE ONLY ONE THERE. I should have driven away at this point since he hadn't even taken my money yet.. but sadly, I stayed anyway.
Forth, he finally comes over to take my card, and he has the nerve to ask for a tip before giving me my order??? The Bruster's in Gaithersburg doesn't even have the option to give a tip. These guys probably need the hand out since the service is so bad that they don't get customers anymore.
Lastly, the sundae was awful! There was only a little bit of icecream and hot fudge. It was mostly the "brownie" that WASN'T EVEN A BROWNIE. It was the worst chocolate cake I've ever had. It was dry, but also somehow rubbery?? It's like he had stale, freezer burned cake that he tried to revive by microwaving it to death.
All around horrible. Save you time, money, and calories for...
Read moreThey would not give allergen information when asked.
EDIT AFTER OWNER REPLY: When I first asked about allergens tonight, the employee first started listing off a completely different category of allergen-free products. No harm, no foul there. However, when asked if they could tell me flavors, all I got was “vanilla definitely is” then “none of the banana and chocolate are”. That’s where my frustration really arose. I still didn’t get answers about what all possible allergen-free flavors were, then to hear all chocolate flavors weren’t gluten free? I’d been told the chocolate was gluten free before and had eaten it. To know that staff aren’t properly knowledgeable or just simply didn’t care to look into an answer is alarming and incredibly disconcerting. While my issue with gluten isn’t immediately life-threatening, others with more severe allergies could have issue.
Thank you. Have a good night.
FINAL EDIT: The issue is not that there’s cross contamination — that’s an issue faced anywhere and everywhere. The issue is with different staff giving the same customer different information. It’s also not really appropriate of staff to talk about reviews from people they know to others, especially when it’s not the full story, but that’s just my...
Read moreI came a little close to closing time so i understand if everyone was trying to leave early. Google said 11 and i got there a little after 10. There was a woman up at the window before me so i thought they were still taking orders. I parked and when i got to the window everyone was still inside but no one came to open it to even to say they were closed early. It was extremely rude bc they would come up close to window to do something on the tablet up front and not say anything or even look at me. So it wasnt even like they didnt notice me or anything. They couldve just opened the window and said they were closed it wouldve been fine. I went back to my car after being ignored for like 5 mins and as soon as i left everyone inside came out and got in to their cars that were parked all around me. We all made eye contact and it was extremely awkward. It was just extremely rude it wasnt even 10:30 yet i guess everyone wanted to leave early but they couldve just said that. They spoke to the woman before me but chose to ignore me so it was just extremely rude. Ive never felt the need to leave a bad review for a place i feel like thats unnecessary but this is truly the rudest thing thats ever happened to...
