Updated rating for purchase on May 22, 2024. Visited restaurant at 7:30pm on May 23, about 4 customers in the bldg and at least 6 staff that we were able to see. Ordered chicken melt sandwich which had a super hard hoagie bun, grilled chicken breast that tasted and had the texture like it was sitting in aujus on the steam table for 3+ hours, grilled onions and melted cheese ($13.99). 2nd dish was bowl of chili and tortilla chips ($13.99). Chili was supposed to have tenderloin in it but has only ground beef. The portion size was no more that 8oz.; Server said I got the last of it... That was apparent in the quantity and the lack of beef tenderloin pieces in it. Also ordered a side of fries... Take a guess on the quality? You guessed it... Old fries covered in enough old bay to season a pot of crabs.... We won't be back.
Updated rating on Dec 28, 2023: Today's order was a Reuben and chips, it was well cooked and came out to the table in a relatively short amount of time. Ample portion of corned beef on a thick sliced marble rye bread.
Normally good service and good food but tonight it took around 35 minutes to get our order. Food was 1 star ...italian burger special was supposed to be medium well, it was definitely medium rare. Prime rib on a hoagie was beef tips that was over cooked and tough. We had to get to a meeting or we would have sent...
Read moreMy wife and I have been getting dinner here about 10-15 times a year for the last four years. Some items on the menu are consistently good while others are routinely not. The sandwiches (Reuben, Rachel, and Prime Rib Hoagie) are generally pretty good. The salads are good (although they stopped making a really good spinach salad earlier this year). The other items are hit or miss. The cream of crab soup should be renamed cream of salt as it is difficult to eat with the amount of salt in it. The fried clam strips I've had three times (yeah, I know I should have learned earlier) are always overcooked, tough, and chewy. The fried Rockfish and fries (their version of fish & chips) is 50/50; sometimes great but other times very soggy fish. The wings are cooked well, but for the price, they are generally small. Paying $10 for 8 wings (yes, $1.25 per wing) I would expect large, meaty wings. These are routinely the same size as those I used to get for $0.25 each at other places. Bottom line is, they have some good food and some mediocre food. The staff is always great and very friendly. I also like the fact that they don't expect you to tip the staff (they have signs about tipping all around the...
Read moreI don't know why I repeatedly give this place a shot. Once, the crab balls where undercooked and then burnt. Same trip, the kabobs where largely overdone. This trip i really wanted a burger after having worked all day. I stopped for what I thought would be a quicker pop-in. I managed to get in right before a long line formed. A nice young woman stepped in and started taking orders while we where in line to save everyone time. I ordered the 12oz burger with cheese, coleslaw, and cheesecake, togo. Make sure you specify that you don't want old bay on fries or coleslaw, etc, as they like to put it on everything. I waited about 32 minutes before I checked on my food. I should have checked sooner as my food was ready 15minutes prior. I thought they would have called my name or something to let me know it was ready. By this time, my bun was soggy and could not hold the burger. My fries where also soggy as they steamed in the container, my coleslaw had old bay on it, and I never got my cheesecake. Oh well. I have learned my lesson,...
