Crab Line Seafood — Restaurant in Maryland

Seafood here used to be so delicious and satisfying in years past, like 2021, 2022. The x-large and jumbo were just that and they were hot and fresh. I can't afford to eat crabs but once or twice per summer because I like to get them as big as possible and that costs a lot. Went here the weekend of July 22 and ordered half dozen x-large crabs but she kept trying to push medium on me. I really prefer jumbo but x-large is ok, so I insisted on x-large. Also ordered 2lbs of snow crab legs (first time). WELL! These crabs that I paid $100/dz for (but I got 6) were at best MEDIUM. I am now convinced that they probably only had those or smaller so she gave me the biggest ones they had. When she kept pushing the medium on me I think she was trying to tell me that she didn't have anything larger than medium without saying that. It's strange because their crabs have the best taste but this year they seemed DRY and kinda old. I think they had been left over and reheated, maybe in an air fryer because they weren't mushy like reheating in a pot. The snow crab legs were mediocre in size but were tasty. This was such a disappointing purchase from Crabline who I could always depend on for amazing crabs. So if you happen to go there and she pushes the medium, go with it. Because whatever you want and pay for, you're gonna get medium. I'm done with them. Hope I can find another place close to home, (Clinton) because the wharf is waaay farther than...

I have been a loyal customer of Crab Line for 35 years. My favorites are their jumbo crabs, jumbo shrimp and croaker - not to mention the hush puppies (I'm not supposed to have). Despite the increased industry prices, Crab Line still offers great sized crabs for reasonable prices. I order from them every year for my annual crab party and wouldn't consider going anywhere else unless they are sold out or closed for vacation. The owners are (and have always been) pleasant from the time I was a young college student to today. They care about their customers. Worst experience ever. Purchased xxjumbo crabs just before closing. Got home and crabs were mushy and watery. Contacted owner by phone next day asking for fresh batch. He got upset. Said "he never over cooks crabs and I was lieing". He agreed to replace over phone. But when I got there he refused and said will never service me again. He also said cause of water in crabs was due to seasonings. Lol. He never apologized for any inconvenience. I thought by calling ahead would avoid any embarrassment and confrontation.
