Urban Crab Boil — Restaurant in Forestville

On Friday January 17, 2025 my sister and I reserved a table for 7pm and received a confirmation text to reply that we're attending. I responded yes. Once we arrived we were told that we had to be finished eating by 8pm . If we were not finished by that time we would be asked to get up from the table because Junk Yard GoGo Band was performing and the tables were rented out to the promoter of the event. This was not explained to us when we made reservations. So basically our bills would have been $100 or more a piece with the food and drinks. We would have to have our food discarded or bagged up to take home if we weren't finished. We argued that we didn't see it in the reservation policy. We asked if we could be seated by the host and speak with management while we be seated. The host never seated us after waiting 15min before even speaking with a host. Once she came back to speak to us we were told by her that the manager said it's out of his control it's the promoters party. It was handled very unprofessional. For him not to even address our issues. We walked out. I would never support this establishment ever in life and never recommend anyone. Change your reservation policy online from the previous owners if you're not going to uphold reservation for customers due to parties being held. Poor management..fully noted. Let's get into this one. Aa y'all know Crafty Crab is my spot. So, one night, I decided to "try something new." I should have stuck with what I know 😒. First of all, you have to be patted down to even enter. My 15 year old was so confused as she had never had to experience this getting food. 😕 That should have been my que to head on back to the car. I get in there, and one girl is at the front on her phone, constantly looking over at me as if I won't even there and another girl walks up and like so how many? Unfriendly as she wanted to be. We waited 20 minutes for a waitress to even get our drinks. The price is much higher than Crafty and definitely NOT WORTH IT!!! The food came out and how they managed to get oil and water to meet and not separate I will never know but it was a watery oily mess and just tasted like someone poured a lot of salt inside of oil and water and gave it a good shake. 🤢 I had the worst headache after eating this. Now the one thing they do have on Crafty is a clean bathroom. I'll give them that. But next time, I have some toilet paper.

If you have kids that have never experienced "security" outside of like school or the airport, DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE. If you have to do that for people to come eat, just shut down. That is so asinine in every sense of the word. Don't get me wrong Crafty has a security as well as PG police but I have never been patted...

I decided to stop by on Friday for a nice little “after work dinner and cocktail”; when I got there I noticed it was quite empty and only a few people sitting at the bar. I noticed immediately no one had food, not even an order of wings at least(red flag #1).

So i figured I’d order a few appetizers to start and go from there. I ordered wings, fries, and a house salad. I also wanted to try their catfish so I asked the bar tender to add a piece of fish and he added it with no issues.

A few moments later, this Asian man comes out of nowhere (who I later learned was one of the owners) and tells me I can’t add a piece of fish I would have to order a whole basket, which would be $12. He didn’t feel comfortable just charging me for one piece of fish. I had already ordered wings, fries and a salad so why would I buy a whole basket of fish when I only wanted one.

So anyway, he said one piece would be $3 but he didn’t feel right doing that although I was willing to pay for it. All in all THE FRIES were the best part and the salad.

Yea yea I know I should have just ordered seafood because it’s a seafood spot but I wanted what I wanted and obviously the owner wasn’t accommodating at all.
