D & D CARIBBEAN KITCHEN — Restaurant in Maryland

Loved this place. In two nights for dinner, I had oxtail, curry goat, peas & rice, cabbage, a spicy beef patty, the all natural pineapple ginger juice and rum cake. Everything I had was amazingly delicious!!! It was like I was on vacation and stumbled onto this fantastic little gem of a restaurant in Jamaica. The oxtail was so flavorful and falling off the bones tender that it had my taste buds humming until dem curry goat crossed my palate and just about stole the show man! They were so tender, well curried and seasoned to perfection. I have to tell you that Mrs Deborah, part-owner, is in that kitchen cooking up some of the best authentic Jamaican food that I've ever had. 😍 The peas & rice and cabbage as sides alone were equally delicious. Definitely don't leave the restaurant without getting a bottle of their all natural refreshingly delicious 'D&G' pineapple ginger juice and a slice of their new adults only OMG heavenly very moist and yummy 'Top Shelf Cakes' Original Rum Cake, which will have you singing Bob Marley's song, Is This Love on the way out! The first time I passed by their food truck by chance, I told myself that I have to pull over when I next see them and I'm glad I did.

Mr. Houston is great. Very polite older gentleman and I was shocked to see that he was the only one on the truck. A food truck is a ton of work, I learned while working on one.

Ordered the jerk chicken meal and beef patty. I could probably eat like half a dozen of these beef patties. They're so flaky and I want more. I made the mistake of only getting one.

The chicken itself is definitely a medium spice but it burns so good and I love the flavor. Like a slight sweet savory taste. I've only had Caribbean a handful of times but this is the new standard for me.

The rest of the plate includes a couple slices of plantains, a savory and large rice and bean dish, and this... Cabbage salad dish. I'm not exactly sure what this is to be quite honest, but it's shredded almost like noodles with mixed vegetables and I can't stop eating it.

I'm absolutely coming back to eat with them.

I always love coming here but today was not so good. I called ahead at 2:25 to order the lunch special. It usually takes them another 15/20 minutes before its ready anyways. I get there at 3pm to pick up my food and the gentleman at the front (not the old guy whos always nice) tells me they gave my food away. Im like why didnt you check to make sure you gave the correct order to the correct person.

He then says wait 5 minutes and ill bring you a new order. Of course its more than 5 minutes. Then he charges me full price of $20 instead of the lunch special price of $13. He tells me oh you didnt say that over the phone. I said yes i did. Ive been coming here for over 3 years and i order the same thing. I didnt feel like arguing over $7 but they definitely lost a customer.

I shouldve been charged the correct price and even more so the fact that he gave away my food. I can and will find another place to get brown stew chicken. I...
