Dominick's is a perennial favorite of Parkville. You cannot talk about the Harford road corridor without knowing Dominick's. Going back to the original Mr. Dominick, and then the different owners over the years, now to it's current owners who have spent decades as workers in the shop, it is more than a pizza joint - it is a neighborhood institution. I grew up in Parkville, and Dominick's was the go-to for every Friday family pizza night - complete with a trip to the Erols - eventually Blockbuster's - video store, birthday celebration, and family and friend gathering. It was the first job for many area teen, I worked there as a delivery driver even after starting my professional life as an educator, because it sadly paid better. And long after I left, Larry Parks, now the owner, would donate to several local charities discounted pizzas, several of my school functions included, demonstrating their commitment to community. I know firsthand, there were many a night I would have customers waiting - my own family - over a hour to get their food. It wasn't out of lack of care, but by virtue of we were in that high of demand. And to this day, as my family has moved out of the area, we go out of our way to pick up Dominick's pizza, cheesesteaks, greek salads, and italian cold cuts, not just for nostalgia, but they are truly one of the best around. The fact that they taste like home for us and so many generations of people from Carney to Hamilton, Loch Raven to Fullerton, is just a bonus. You have a lot of options out there, and several good ones, but you can't go wrong with Dominick's, on the rare occasion you're not satisfied, they make it right, and you're supporting a small business that supports its community. That's about as...
Read moreWhere do I start....its so sad that, what used to be a parkville staple, has gone down hill so much. Its enough to have to deal with the rude women that answer the phone, but their food has been consistently getting worse than their customer service. Last week I ordered a sub and it honestly had a hole eaten through the foil wrapper. How does that happen? How do you send something out the door like that? It was a complete mess. Either someone dropped it on the ground hard and it tore a hole in it, or a rat or mouse chewed through it while it was waiting to go out the door. The fries are consistently cold as well. If this just happened once or even a few times, I wouldnt say anything at all. But it has happened too many times now consistently and Im done with this place. Not to mention, that a cheesesteak and fries combo for lunch will now cost you $18! Give the driver $2-$3 for tip and youre now spending over $20 just for lunch. Maybe I wouldnt mind paying that much if the food or at least the service was good, but neither is good anymore and its just sad. I dont like to put down small businesses, but these people need this feedback for the small chance they actually care enough to do better. For now, honestly Paulys up the street has excellent food and very nice people answering phones. Their prices are high, but like I said,...
Read morethis use to be my go-to place for food all the time for over 20 years but the quality has gone done. I had developed friendships w the employees and they even admitted to me that Dominicks has tried cutting cost by using cheaper products like the cheese sauce. I no longer order fries w cheese because the cheese sauce they now use is disgusting. their cheese steaks r still really good and full of meat and even though my son doesn't like their pizza I still think it's good but not as good as it use to be. I'm also disappointed that they use prepacked salad dressing for the wings . everyone else uses prepped dressing w chunks of blue cheese.another cost saver I guess. never had a problem with customer service. always friendly and compliant when resolving an issue. I miss the quality and wouldn't mind paying a little more because the prices are good. so Dominicks if I need to pay a lil more to get the greatness u once were plz put that in consideration and stop cutting costs.
This is a follow up to the response on the cheese sauce. I remember the cheese sauce was replaced at least over 5 or 6 years ago. The packets are easier for you and end up lacking freshness and taste for...
