Stopped in for lunch today. I was greeted enthusiastically by a waiter. I thought he was leading me to a table, but he went in the kitchen. So I fixed my plate from the buffet, and the waitress at the end answered that I could sit anywhere. They brought cold water with no ice (Indians don't use ice). All the dishes on the buffet were labeled on post-it notes hand-written and stuck on the wall. A little tacky, but I'm sure they will work on that and get some proper signs on table card holders. On the whole, the food was good. The pekoda (pecora) was reasonably crispy. There was plain rice and veg baryani. I selected the later. There was a grill with chili chicken (see photo). This was the spiciest selection, and was toned down for "American taste". It also was not hot, temperature wise by the time I sat down. this was most likely because the stack of plates was very cold. The veg korma was really good, nice sauce and very full of veggies. The saag was different than the usual pureed stuff. It was chopped and seemed more like stir fry. Good fresh spinach flavor. Tandori chicken was smaller pieces (a good thing), and I got one without bones. I also tried the Chicken tikka, which I usually skip. The sauce was better than other places where I think it tastes like canned tomato soup. This one was good. The naan was average. No kheer for dessert, but they had golub jamin (donut balls in sweet syrup) and Jalebi which they had labeled "Jerry". This kinda looks like fried dough (see photo) but soaked in honey. My biggest disappointment is that the plates were cold and there was not much spicy heat in the food, though I understand trying to serve the most common palates which generally don't like a lot of spicy. The seasonings were well used, on a par with everywhere else that serves this cuisine. If they add at least one spicy dish (vindaloo comes to mind), properly labeled, and the plates are not cold, it...
Read moreWent on a Saturday with friends for lunch. The restaurant was bright and clean, but the environment felt cold and sterile, not warm or inviting. We all opted for the buffet. There wasn't a huge variety and while everything had labels, there was no explanation of the dishes or description of ingredients or spice levels. As someone familiar with Indian/Nepalese cuisine, I knew what most of the dishes were, but the friends with me did not and found most everything too spicy. The majority of the dishes featured fried food, so definitely not for the health conscious. The food was presented in large serving dishes that were kept almost empty. I understand that they probably want to minimize waste, but then they should get smaller serving vessels. The big dishes didn't keep the food properly warm and it also dried out. The nan brought to the table was cold, tough, and flavorless, not the pillowy softness I'm used to at other places. Staff was pleasant but standoffish. There were also difficulties communicating. Requesting the check was an ordeal and when one member of our party asked for ranch dressing, even after several attempts to explain, the server did not understand the request but proceeded to bring some type of sauce out -- we had no idea what it was. Overall an ok experience, but not great. There are better options for Indian/Nepalese cuisine...

The food and service are amazing.
The staff are super friendly and attentive. They go above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied, and are just friendly people in general.
The lunch buffet is a great way to sample various items. The buffet line includes a nice variety of poultry, vegetable, and goat options along with rice, samosa, and other side items. There is also chai available at the buffet line which is delicious, as well as Gulab Jamun or other dessert option.
The only downside to the buffet is that it is prepared for the masses, so if you enjoy your food with a kick of heat, you might find the food underwhelming in that regard. It is still delicious, though.
Their menu is filled with Indian and Nepalese comfort classics that are perfectly prepared.
The garlic Naan is fantastic, fragrant, and served piping hot. A perfect accompaniment to the meal.
The dining room is spacious and can accompany larger parties. They also have a separate banquet room you can reserve for catered events.
If you are looking for an Indian/Nepalese restaurant with a lunch buffet option served seven days a week, be sure to stop by Family Kitchen. An amazing meal with...
