Originally rated it 4 stars but my experience Friday has severely harmed my trust in this location. Frustrating experience. After placing an online order for pickup at 621pm, I entered the restaurant at 620 and waited until 635. After seeing orders get fulfilled I asked where my order was. The staff member was not helpful, only stating that they don't see my ticket. I asked them to double check and they found my ticket on the floor. They then picked up the ticket and tried to give me my meal that had been sitting getting cold for 20 minutes+. I asked them to remake the order and they said they would. After waiting again no action had been taken to remake my order and so we then asked to speak with the manager. He then apologized and refunded the order amount and said he would reprint the ticket to make the order again. He never reprinted the ticket and we waited until after 7pm (over one hour since ordered!!) for him to realize he didn't even print the ticket. We then left at 715pm to go get food elsewhere. The staff working this night were very unprofessional. Ultimately if you arent going to reprint the ticket and make the order, just tell me so i dont waste an hour+ of time.... Highly disappointed in this five guys location and won't be going back...
Read moreI've been to 8 or 9 Five Guys locations throughout NY, PA, VA, and MD and the first time at the new Dunkirk location was a disappointment. I considered posting a review after that first visit but decided against it and chalked it up to just a bad night. We were there for only the second time last night and the experience was much better than the first one. They seem to have raised their performance up to the standard one expects from Five Guys. The service was good and the burgers were made like we asked, and didn't look like the meat and toppings were just thrown on the bun. The fries were cooked right, hot, and the two of us couldn't finish the small order.
If you don't know the restaurant chain it is a low key, relaxed, burger and fries place where they don't wait or bus tables, they play classic rock, and they post a board showing where the potatoes came from (usually Idaho and they list the farm name). They have a large box of help-yourself roasted peanuts (warning to those with nut allergies) to snack on while you wait for your meal. The burgers are made with fresh beef; the fries from fresh potatoes and they are very generous with the amount served. It's a little on the pricey side for burger and fries but worth a visit a few...
Read moreThey meet my expectations by laughing at my dad jokes, tolerating my foolishness, accurately entering in my order and toppings, and cooking up a burger to the level of delicious I've come to expect at all Five Guys establishments.
They also have plenty of adequately comfortable and clean tables outside which afford diners with an only slightly obstructed view of the CVS and water drainage mitigation features across the way. The tables are positioned in a way that passers-byers are able to see the diners sitting outside, and are close enough to ensure that the joy these delicious burgers elicit is so obvious that they become envious of the diners, and wish they too could enjoy a delicious burger.
So, you get a delicious burger AND are perceived by other random people who are passing by as someone they would like to be more like in account of the elevated level of joy you're exhibiting. Based on these factors, I'm finding it challenging to come up with any reasons why anyone wouldn't eat here after reading this review. Unfortunately there are those who actually prefer to be unhappy and choose to do things that perpetuate that desire.
Break the cycle, get your butt into Five Guys, and you start living yourself and your...
